It's been an incredibly tough week with an unexpected family crisis, and I had a 3:00am wake up call for a flight to DC today for a client presentation. I'm having a hard time focusing but I think at least I got the outfit right; now I just need to get through this day. Sorry for the TMI but I appreciate having this community to reach out to, however briefly.

Thanks Ceit. Sadly, the crisis is not minor.
On the plus side, having YLF dressing rules to lean on today was incredibly helpful when it was hard to think for myself.

I love how you played with the colorblocking - are those booties? with the sweater/ lower sleeves and pants and how the belt brings it all together. Viva, I am so sorry that you are dealing with a family problem at this time of year with work stress as well. What a load you're carrying.

You look fantastic in this outfit! Professional yet comfortable. Love the belt and the pointed shoes....(are those the Zara booties?). And love the bookending they provide with the sweater. Just lovely.

Oh, I'm sorry you're having a family crisis and still have to travel for work. One would never know you're going through a tough time from looking at you though. Your outfit is beautiful - polished and professional. Love the sweater with the booties and the accessories you've chosen are perfect.

Thanks everyone. When it rains, it pours. On top of everything, there was also a lockdown at my daughter's university this week because of a person with a gun on campus (ended up being an off duty police officer but was a tense night.) (that was not the family crisis; that will continue for a while.)

Yes those are the Zara booties, so comfortable and a nice change from black footwear. Would definitely recommend them.
