I wanted to wear my Allsaints oversized tee and Nanette Lepore blazer together today (a tried and true combo), but it was way too cold (still in the single digits Fahrenheit here) without a third layer. Enter this handknit vest. It's a bit difficult to style because it has an extremely deep scoop neck that looks odd with many tops. I quite like how it kind of looks like a corset here with the drapey tee underneath forming a peplum of sorts. It is also reminiscent of Japanese haramaki (ETA: belly-warmers, not rib warmers). I get kind of a neo-Victorian, slightly goth vibe with this. On the bottom, I have my plaid flannel skinnies and Blondo boots, both nice and warm. The vest is not actually black, it's made of a tonal black and teal yarn that's really difficult to photograph, especially on top of more black. I've included some overexposed photos here so you can see the details better.
