WIW: mint again and a tricky tee

Well here today’s wiw. Critiques welcome. I’m happy with the pants, shoes, bracelets and scarf. Crisp white tee shirts are never my friend- the crispness and bright white make my skin look yucky and my top half look a little bulky, however I didn’t know what other colour top to work in with this outfit.
Also my hair is in its usual low messy bun which isn’t great but I’m at a loss as to what to do with it.
However the happiness factor of the mint pants and scarf makes up for it

I don’t think you look bulky at all, your scarf and bracelets are cute and your top and pants look cute together on you. As for other colors to go with the pants, I like olive and sage with mint, also citron, melon, lavender, navy ...

Hi jlpp- thanks so much for those colour suggestions. Lavender I’ve done before with these pants- and it worked well. I haven’t tried citron, melon, sage or olive but they’re intriguing suggestions.

I like this outfit a lot and don't see anything bulky about your top half. I got so tired of my eternal messy bun that I cut off all my hair (went from mid-back length to chin length). I loved it but it's been several years so I'm currently growing my hair to about shoulder length.

I remember that feeling from when I used to have hair as long as yours and ended up putting it in a pony tail most days but there are loads of things you can do and the internet is full of advice and suggestions .Now my daughters got long hair and I really enjoy trying out new styles on her.Have you got a bun ring ?you can use that on top or pinned at the side,various braids are easy to do and you can get some really cute hair accessories really reasonably priced these days.One of my recent faves are little fabric flowers on what look like screws and you just wind them in to a braid or bun to jazz it up.changing your hairstyle can really amp up the vibe of an outfit .you have lovely hair so make the most of it.

Your outfit is lovely and I cannot see anything bulky either. The pants are great with the lovely scarf and bracelets. The shoes are also very nice with the outfit. Have you tried to tuck the top in?
I like the outfit as it is with the white top, but if you prefer another colour - you could use a mint top to create a monochrom column - that might be nice with the scarf, or just any of the softer colours in the scarf for the softer look I think you prefer.

Hi guys- a sudden cool change swept through- so had to add a Boden light grey cardi and lose the scarf as it no longer worked.
Phew- darn crazy weather
Funnily enough I feel a lot better about the outfit now that I have something soft and drapey on top....
I’ve already learnt so much from ylf, and looking back at my wiw posts, including that soft and drapey is much better on me than crispy....

Katerina: I forgot to try tucking it in! I may try that next time. I do have a mint tee, I will try doing a column of colour- usually I do that with neutrals but it may be worth a try with mint. Thanks!
Cardiff girl and Sarah L: Thanks for the hair ideas- I'm extremely sick of my hair and I ought to work a little harder on it but just cant seem to work up the motivation. But that could all change....

Ok, after some reflection, I am actually going to relegate this white tee to being ONLY for under things, or for tucked in. The last 2 times I have worn it untucked with nothing over it I felt not-so-great. But thats ok- I have learned something and it will still be useful for under open cardi's and jackets, or tucked. I shall keep my eyes open for a softer, more swingy white tee that's flattering enough to stand alone. Suggestions welcome here

Ooh! Mint! I love how you styled your mint pants. I like the white Tee, but if it is not a happiness factor, try one of the other colors in your scarf. I think a melon or aqua color would look great, too. I like your hair, but if you are tired of it, try a side pony or a side bun.

Thanks Mainelady- A side bun could work... I always like the look of those. Picking up on the colours of the scarf is always tried and true

Totally fine outfit, the scarf really adds and makes the mint pants look different than they would with another pastel. I like the white but you could try a silver grey t shirt instead, similar light effect but a little less easier to wear.

I don't think your skin looks yucky at all with crisp white tee. Suggestion: when you look in the mirror focus less on your skin and more on how it lights up your face, the whites of your eyes, your teeth, your hair. Sometimes we over focus and miss the bigger picture.

The mint pants are great. The color really suits you. I don't see any heaviness with the white top but if you don't feel good in it I think your plan to use it only as a layering piece is prefect. Love the grey cardigan.

I love this outfit - fresh and crisp. Those sandals are too cute. I struggle with white - I don't think I have any white tops in my closet. I feel it washes me out, but since I don't see that in your photos, I may have to rethink as our spring rolls around.

The outfit looks lovely! I don't see the tee as bulky, and on the photos white does not seem to alter tour skin tone.
I love the lighthearted, airy feeling conveyed by the mint trousers and patterned scarf! Perfect for summer!
