I found this beautiful red wool coat at my new favourite consignment store on Saturday. The lady who owns the store said it was from one of her long-standing clients and had never been worn. In fact, the little envelope with the extra buttons was still in the pocket of the coat. The quality of the coat is excellent with double stitched seams, well attached buttons, fabulous lining and I absolutely love the plaid inside of the large hood. It’s the perfect length over pants and jeans and has nice large front pockets. I also scored a soft lilac coloured Calvin Klein cashmere blazer with a peplum style back and a gorgeous Club Monaco heavy green tweed cropped riding jacket with a wide shawl-type collar – both of these are at the tailor’s getting the sleeves shortened and will be debuted in the next couple of weeks.

The sweater is a new purchase from Gap and my first foray into the world of lurex. This sweater is so soft and cozy. The sweater is a dark charcoal colour with silver lurex threads running through (it also comes in a denim blue colour). The sleeves are elbow length with a slight dolman shape. But the most interesting part of the sweater is the boatneck collar with the gold zippers on each shoulder. It gives it a slight edgy feel and the zippers can actually be undone so that the sweater slips off the shoulders and goes across the chest and you wear a coloured tank underneath. It’s kinda cool and very different for me. I wore my favourite Michael Kors gold woven bracelet and my Lia Sophia mixed metals ring to pick up on the gold of the zippers. On the bottom just my trusty black wide leg work trousers, nothing special.

I’m doing my version of a nude lip – trying out MAC Lipglass in Viva Glam.
