WIW: keep or not?

Having a couple of girlfriends over for dinner tonight, very casual (like my life haha). What do you think of this top? It's the only pale yellow thing I own and the only thing I have ever bought at Talbots. It's from 3 or 4 years ago, not sure what this kind of sleeve is called. Is it really dated? Really homely? I like it alright and it's easy I throw on but if it's not really working for me I should pass it on. What do you think?

I like it! Soft and spring-like The color is good on you and the styling looks current. That might be a bishop sleeve but I could be wrong.

But I know what you mean when you question whether something looks dated. Kind of like...."if I have to ask this question then maybe it is dated but I can't figure out why."

I didn't notice anything dated about it. To me, it looks like a peasant top, which is very "in" right now (Victoria's Secret is full of them if you look on their website). The only thing I'm wondering about is the tuck. It looks like the shirt may be too voluminous to tuck well? Ah, maybe what I am reacting to is that the shirt when tucked is the same length as the sleeves, which (on me, anyway) always stumpifies me, as it creates a horizontal line right across the middle of my body. Not sure what to recommend...or maybe this is just my own hangup!

I don't know, it seems a bit too boho/frilly for your style. Unless you are one of those who goes more boho in the summer? I like the color on you though!

The pastel color and volume through the body seem very current, but the cut of the sleeve is less so. I think it looks updated the way you've styled it, but if you don't love it, I would pass it on. I just finally let go of a few things I'd been holding onto and no regrets so far.

I like the colour on you and think it's nice for a change. I don't think it is *too* boho (if you want that bit of a change) but I do think it's a bit on the "soft" or "rounded" side with its detailing. I think if you enjoy wearing it, keep for this year and wear -- and if it always bothers you a bit, then pass along.

I think it is called a poet sleeve and if it dose not speak to your heart I say get rid of it. I personally like it and the half tuck your doing very casual.

I looked at the pictures first then went back at read the comments. My first thought was that the top has a boho vibe which I personally like but looking at your other WIWs it doesn't seem to sync with your usual style so really cones down to how much you love it.

Thanks everyone. I think I am going to let it go. In the summer, I do go a little boho (Diana, that was a very insightful comment) but as I am honing my style with the help of YLF, I think my boho choices will be more classic than this kind of thing. I really want to be beyond putting something on and questioning its rightness for me (and I really do that every time I put this on).

A little late, as I see you've decided, but I do like how it looks on you. It is a little boho, and as one of those people whose style leans a little more boho in summer (it's pretty much a necessity), I find it appealing. But if it's not speaking to you anymore, I say let it go!
