Thank you all! I felt so comfortably me in this outfit! Of course, I had an apron on over it for most of the day, but that's okay. I felt chic and relaxed underneath my apron, and I didn't get any beeswax or pastel on my outfit.
shevia, you have great hair all your own, maybe not long enough to hide behind though!
Firecracker, so nice to hear the Carly Simon reference. When I decided to do the bangs, I gave my hairstylist the photo below, and was imagining it with a bit of a rocker vibe (I was terrified of it looking tired and dated). I think it worked out!
Emily K, yes! I don't like the look of a straight- or scoop-neck cami under a v-neck top (just a personal preference), so I was really excited to find this beautiful v-neck one!I can see myself stocking up over time, as my budget allows, since they're not cheap.
Thank you, StyleFan and Staysfit. The woman teaching the orchid class has been an inspiration to me for a while, so it was wonderful to meet and work with her! I learned some techniques that I think will serve me well in the future.
Jane, yes! I bought the trench during NAS and it's only been cool enough to wear it a couple of times. I was thrilled when I woke up yesterday to find it raining!
skylurker, haha! Well, I guess you would know!
Scarlet, I quite like the contrast between the slubby linen and the refined silk and lace. I think when you're doing a lot of black, you have to have some texture!
Sterling, I am the opposite of what seems like most women, who lament that they don't like to wear black near their face. I love it! It's made me realize, though, that I need to stop buying black bottoms. I'm happiest when I invert the common model.
Angie, yay! I feel like my wardrobe is finally hitting a happy place! You and Aida are a big reason why I've been aiding more lace into the formula recently. That idea that little feminine touches can make a big difference in the feel of an outfit was a revelation for me, even though it seems so simple.
