Emily, I applaud your eye for detail. The waist measurements provided on sites are probably quite accurate. But they don't take into account the flappy bit that doesn't have a keeper if you buckle the belt on the tightest holes.
I like the "Gentlewoman" descriptor, and will borrow it for my own style goals, if you don't mind! I've been using "Equestrian" as the key descriptor for my fall purchases and it clearly shares some overlap.
JuniperGreen--I didn't know the name "Gentlewoman" until I did quite a bit of internet and pinterest research in an attempt to name my style and found out that it was a "thing" There's even a magazine about it.
