WIW + how to Wear Pink?

Lots of luck thrifting lately + feeling more adventurous in my style means I've been trying new color and outfit combinations.

I've probably gathered over 50 designer items lately, which had meant a big closet clean-out as my style shifts. Below, some of my thrift finds, and a question:

Merlot cardigan - Repeat
Isabel Marant pink wool shacket
Golden wool cardigan- vintage (Eatons men's department)
Periwinkle blue cashmere hoodie - Massimo Dutti
Olive quilted military jacket - Tibi

I've also thrifted quite a few pink pieces that I've never been drawn to before, but I'm loving lately. I'm thinking of wearing the pink wool shacket with a vintage leather long pencil skirt and combat boots; any ideas for how to style these other pink items?

Wow, that is a lot of new designer items! Congrats on such a wonderful streak. All the new pieces are gorgeous, and I like the couple of outfits you show.

I like pinks several ways: lighter ones, like blush, mixed with neutrals ( black & white, or grey, or navy), and brighter ones I like with browns and in tonal outfits with red/burgundy etc. Since pink is a "pretty" color, I like add some kind of edgy item to the outfit (moto, combat boots, coated jeans), sometime a subtle one ( e.g. studded belt or bag); for the juxtaposition of "pretty & edgy".

I want to see all of your new thrifted items. I like the pink top. Is it felted?

I wear pink all the time. Most of mine is pale. I like it with grey, white and blue. Right now I’m wearing a pink sweatshirt with pale grey cropped jeans.

Thanks both! I should have clarified -i have a lot of pale pink/blush in my closet that I love mixing with neutrals, as though both do. These more 'agressive' pinks, though, are harder for me. Tanya, I like the idea of brown - i might wear that Malene Birger sweater with a brown Tweed skirt, as pictured.

Jaileen, the shacket isn't felted - it's a heavy double sided wool (cream on the other side.)

No styling suggestions but extreme support for your inclusion of pink, which is beautiful on you!

Hoping you will continue to update as I also, out of character, have been drawn to pink recently and am looking for ideas

I think this pink works on you because probably because this this jacket has an undercurrent of creamy white in it, or at least that’s how it reads to me. I’d love to see it with leather, either or a skirt or pants, also classic black work pants, i see it working with a nice cigarette or wide leg style, with a sleek black boot. I’d love to see the open back sweater over a column of creamy white. And try it with olive…the last puff sleeve sweater, honestly that one kind of stumps me..the pink looks sort of pastel but not really so its hard for me to see it with anything but a white or cream…but that’s why I don’t wear a lot of color..i have no color imagination

Such great finds, Roxanna! The burgundy cardigan is beautiful on you, as is the deep pink of the shacket.

I love the suggestions for pairing the deeper pink with olive, browns, burgundy, and I wholly support the addition of combat boots to add a bit of edge. I hope you'll do an outfit workshop with it soon!

I think you’ve already answered your own question! You wear pink beautifully.
Your other pink items could be teamed with the leather pencil skirt too, or with cargo pants.

What a haul! You did great.
I wear pink with olive. Always with the pink on top and olive on the bottom.
I add my olive utility jacket over my pink sweaters too. Enjoy your new finds!

Fabulous finds! I continue to be in awe of your thrifting skills/mojo/karma.

I think those candy pinks are really great with olive, as others have mentioned. I like that the shacket is kind of a utilitarian style. I'm imagining it with olive cords, hiking boots, etc -- to androgify (that's a technical term) a woodsman-y outfit.

I also think these shades of pink could be a nice accent to your autumn on the beach palette. Imagine walking along the cliffs near the sea, all the pufflings have fledged but there's one lone sea thrift plant still in bloom...

Chucking at the idea of pink being "aggressive," but I know just what you mean! I love all these finds on you -- you truly have the thrifting gift! The shacket is amazing. But I also really love that Tibi vest!

Oh my goodness! Squee! I love that you have included the original product shots of your amazing finds - the research is a big part of the fun for me too!
And they are amazing on you. I am especially wowed by the pink jacket and the olive vest. I love how you styled the olive vest here. The pink jacket has black buttons, which suggests black, but I actually like bright pink with browns and other colors.
And what is this about your style shift? I need more information!

These colors should all look good with navy. Maybe chocolate brown, especially pink. The black buttons on 3-5 may call for black or maybe

wow what great finds. I am a great fan of thrifting and think it is a fun way to add unique or older pieces to your wardrobe. That is a pretty pink and I think pink goes with a lot of neutrals such as black, navy, brown and beige etc. Those are quite unique pieces so something neutral in a style not likely to overpower the designer piece.

Besides the usual combinations, depending on the shade of pink, green and rust are striking with pink. Rust with blush pink. Kelly green with bright pink (gives me a retro 60's vibe). Olive with a more muted pink. Have a look at color palette combinations on Pinterest for a wealth of ideas. Lucky you, lots of fun ahead with the so many new exciting pieces to style.

What fabulous finds, Roxanna! Love them all on you. How about dark chocolate brown with the pink jacket? I think that would be a yummy combination for you. Are the buttons black or dark brown? Here is a pic of an aggressive pink coat with column of chocolate and browns.

I wear my “aggressive” (love the expression) pinks with olive, dark brown, navy, black, light grey…. Well almost any neutral I have. Also with true and/or red burgundy for a colorful look. Combine with colorful patterned scarves.

I like hot pink with burgundy or brown usually, though have paired with orange or red or dark green too.

I like the suggestion of Olive. And you are all right - the black buttons on the shacket make it a natural match for black, so I will try our with black leather or maybe a black Tweed.

The Tibi jacket is a jacket, with an olive quilted body and black sleeves. I am excited to try that with a few other silhouettes too.

That shade of bubblegum pink is absolutley DELICIOUS on you, Roxanna! (Pics #3 to #5). No wonder you were drawn to it. The dark buttons are AMAZING with your hair! That jacket does look a size big though. Are you happy with the fit?

I'm leaning towards fluid fits, higher necklines, structured shoulders and midi hemlines these days... But every once in a while a wild card comes asking that makes me want to throw the rules or the window and experiment a little and have fun

The Isabel Marant shacket is like that for me - oversized, perhaps overpowering on my frame, but I am willing to go with it and have fun. Ditto the Malene Birger sweater - the colour and quality send me over the moon, and I like the oversized fit - but it is a LOT

I love all of these finds! You wear these colors so beautifully! The cardigan is great but the IM pink shacket and Tibi quilted jacket are super-fab! Like several others, I would wear that shacket with olive, gray, black, navy, and cream/bone/ecru.
