Thank you FuzzyLogic! Your description of the owl made me laugh.

Hope you find it Astrid.

Karie I bought it off Amazon for about $3 total. In case you want to give it a try!

Thanks Suz! I I love cranberry and raspberry colours & can wear them as long as they're not too bright, but can you believe I don't have any in my wardrobe? Just haven't come across them while thrifting unfortunately. I do keep an eye out though.

JAileen, wow! Did you deliver it to a rescue group or nurse it yourself? I believe baby birds are difficult to keep alive, but what a precious encounter. There's an Eastern Screech Owl somewhere in our yard or a neighbour's that I hear calling a lot at night. And I've seen owls on some of my woodsy park walks, but not very often. They're fascinating animals. That necklace is stunning; sadly, I don't wear my necklaces as often as my brooches (a lot of my necklines are necklace friendly) so I don't know if I'd get enough wear out of it. Perhaps the long chain would let me wear it over higher necklines though, like Astrid's fabulous recent outfit.

Thank you Viva!

I came back to read the full intro post as the last time I only checked the photos. You do wear your heart on the sleeve and this community is richer for it, and for your presence. Your outfit - it is a bigger delight the more I look at it.
Your devotion to wearing the pieces which have a story is so moving. It's a whole new meaning to layers in dressing.

I've been thinking a lot about colours lately and this is a perfect example of the perfect match - when the person wears the right colour my heart sings. I don't know why some colours work on some people, but I know my gut reaction to the right thing. A few days ago I was having a tea at a small bakery shop, when the lady walked in. I immediately notice women who have the same soft skin like my late mum's and the same shade of her ginger hair. But that was not all. This lady had a beautiful bright teal coat on and I could not take my eyes off her. Then she sat down, took the coat off to reveal the dark pink jacket and turquoise scarf. I could feel my heart beating faster just looking at all those colours, I was transfixed. Everything was just right for her, on her. All her colours made me feel alive just looking them on her, around her.

That's how I see this colour on you.

And thank you for the wonderful link. There's a whole section there devoted to Inspiring Woman! It's a sort of discovery that makes me wish the day is longer than 24 hours, so I can read it all in one go.

We took the baby great horned owl to a wild animal infirmary where she was raised to adulthood, and released. We visited her the week before she was scheduled to be released and she looked beautiful. I had her sitting in my lap for a half hour as we drove to the center. I was afraid of her and I'm sure she was afraid of us.

Ornella, thank you so much for coming back & talking about colour. It's deeply important to me as well, and I love seeing someone out and about in just the right ones for them. I loved your story, and it thrills me to no end that see that in my outfit too. Isn't that blog fabulous?

JAileen, how wonderful you were able to go visit her as an adult! I hope you didn't think I'm implying wild animals should be pets or be carried around or anything. I respect their wildness & their own natures & I can imagine the fear, from both the owl and you. It's so difficult when you can't explain what's going on! But I suspect there was still a bit of magic in the moment.

You look gorgeous in that color red! I love the owl ( I just added an owl pendant to my jewelry collection). I wore a Heart sweater on Valentines day but it was navy on green so I stood out a bit. .
