Well Ladies it's the beginning of a new week and it looks like Autumn may have arrived!

Feeling a bit lack lustre this morning. We had a lovely weekend away at a music festival and arrived home late last night so very little planning went into today's outfit.

I love this dress but feel my styling is a bit on the boring side. Any suggestions very welcome.

I'm wearing
Blue Illusion wool vest and jersey dress
Opaque hose
Suede Booties
And threw on my new purple coat for the commute.

Boring? Really? You have a strong, bold, modern look here. I like the bold print in conservative colors and the balance of clean lines with some "flow." It looks like an outfit that will allow you to move and be comfortable,too....And the coat is fabulous!

If your craving more detail, you could always try a colored belt or shoes or a statement necklace, but I don't think you need it here.

this dress is pretty strong on its own so I don't think it requires a lot of styling and I like what you have done, Deborah.

Not boring at all. You could experiment with a bright necklace or scarf, but I like this outfit as is. The booties look great and I love your purple coat.

I think it's a great outfit as is, but I agree with the suggestions, to change it up, a small pop of neon or other bright color in a necklace or bracelet or broach might make the difference.

Beth Ann, having added quite a bit of color to my wardrobe over the past year, I find I often feel a bit disatisfied when Im wearing more neutrals. Its funny because once upon a time I only wore black. Thanks for your suggestions, I did add a statement necklace this morning than took it off, maybe its not the outfit, maybe it's me lol... I might be having one of 'those' days.

Looking sharp and put together in the dress . Maybe it's one of those simple yet strong "go to" choices for a day like today when you don't have the creative juices going. It works just perfectly. I love purple with black and gray and the coat looks sophisticated with the dress.

I love this! I don't find it boring in the least. But maybe some bold silver jewelry if a colour doesn't do it for you?

I can see how the temperature has turned- so different to see black-clad legs all of a sudden. You look well prepared for the elements!

I think you are a magnificent study in navy and rather than adding color, I like the pure look of the blues with the opaques and booties and would agree with Suz on adding something silver. What line of work are you in? Boring? NO!

Suz, funny because I put on a bold silver necklace and then took it off. I think it might be my mood today more than anything.

Thanks Vicki Don't laugh but I am essentially a community worker. In my current job I co-ordinate a couple of local community programs and spend a greal deal of my time managing volunteers and co-ordinating with the organisations we offer services to. I work with a lot of people that fit the community worker stereo type (here in Australia at least), who are very 'organic', and hippy like. I see a lot of what i call Hippy Boho Chic, but without the chic??? Trying to funny here, not unkind! They are awesome people, but I am always very 'uniquely' dressed in comparison to my colleagues when we meet for our monthly meetings. Glad you like the outfit.

Lol@ the stereotypical community worker! You are so elegant and I'm sure you stand out. I'm glad you don't feel the need to match their vibe!

This is such a simple, strong and luxe looking outfit. Love the tone on tone of the design. Wow. You cut quite a striking figure, Miss Deborah, and viewing your outfits is always such a treat!

Deborah you and boring in the same sentence just don't fit. I love the way you have styled the dress in the first photo. As Sveta says it makes such a strong statement on it's own you really don't need to over egg the pudding.

The coat in the second photo is lovely and looks very warm but with the coat on I would prefer you with some colour next to your face.

Ladies, I have just received my first ever compliment in this current job on today's outfit. I started this job 12 months ago and am in an office with 2 others. My male colleague has a tendancy to be loud, angry and uses bad language a great deal. This has made it a bit difficult to connect and engage him. Long story short, he has been making quite an effort of late and I have been doing my best to take a moment to chat and develop some semblance of a working relationship... well just now in the kitchen, he told me he thought I looked very nice today and really liked what I am wearing!! I think this may be evidence of a break through:) For the record my female colleague could not be less interested in fashion if she tried... she's lovely tho
