Somehow, I managed to trick DH into taking me to the Freakers Ball this year. I say tricked because Marilyn Manson was the headliner, and I've been trying to get him to take me to see Marilyn Manson for years and years but he was NOT having it. Bush was the act on stage right before Manson, and DH DOES love Bush (as he should because they're freaking awesome), so that's how I tricked my sweet DH .
Cue clip of Cindy adjusting her halo so it sits better on top of her horns LOL
I was inspired by the elegance of Manson's Mephistopheles of Los Angeles and Deep Six looks (pics 1 thru 5), and I had some stuff in the closet that worked with that feel (pic 6). DH has done amateur special effects makeup and he's an artist, so he was going to give me the full-on whiteout treatment, but the white makeup was not going to work with my sensitive skin so we had to settle on my pale skin and some filters applied to the pics (7&8) LOL
Boots: Naturalizer
Pants: JCrew
Top: Helmut Lang
Jacket: Laundry by Shelly Segal
DH did a [possibly] Comanche war paint (pic 9), which I suppose is OK since he's a Chickasaw citizen.
Pic 10 is me sometime around when Bush was on stage. Gavin Rossdale did NOT disappoint. Pic 11 is one of those perfect moments; I snapped a pic at the exact moment their drummer hit the drums for the first time of the evening.
12 is this former stagehand sitting through set change before Manson came on stage. Once Manson started playing, I was so busy dancing and screaming and singing that I got exactly zero pics of them onstage. Today, I can barely talk because my throat hurts (probably all that screaming), and my eyes are bloodshot, but I don't care I don't care I don't care it is worth it to FINALLY get to see Manson live.
Pic 13 is on the way home. Tired, lipstick gone, hair knotted up like a bird's nest, ready for a long hard nap before work the next morning
Thanks for looking!
