Aw I'm blushing
Angie, I'm honored!
Jeanie - I basically just hold the diagonally opposite corners of the long side of a rectangular scarf and wrap it around my neck in one loop. If it's long I'll tie the corners behind my head, if shorter, I might tuck them into the folds at the side of my neck or let them hang. I arrange it in an inverted triangle shape (or two) because I like having a block of pattern that comes to a vertical point. Pretty much that's what I do 90% of the time, I rarely get fancy or try to make knots. Of course, a gust of wind can throw it all into disarray and I end up fidgeting it back into place awkwardly in a parking lot.
Deborah - thank you! You are a master of the leggings under drape look. I did cut my hair shorter, I finally found that a one length shorter style really will just dry into place and not end up looking scattered and fly-away in an hour (my struggle with layers and various forms of fringe).
Neel - good point about the shoe straps picking up stripes - thanks!
Diane - thanks. the jeans are kind of a washed out pearl gray and they end up serving as good stand in for off-white or with pale dusty blue sometimes - it's a useful color imo.
Dee - thanks! good point about the taupe, and those are definitely style descriptors I aim for.
AM - it's been a more recent discovery for me how much mixing textures in monochrome or neutral outfits helps, but it really does increase my happiness factor with an outfit.
Tanya - thanks, the leggings are H&M faux leather on the front and a knit on the back -- which is why I think they conform pretty well. I was happy to run across those shoes, I think I've seen them on Amazon and a few places too. They really are quite comfortable because they are soft suede and have some padding inside and a low heel, and they hold the ankle like a bootie.
Thank so much Ceit, lyn67, kkards, Laurie!
