HI Ladies,

Hope you are having a great weekend.

This sleeveless vest/cardigan has been an orphan in my closet since I purchased it about 10 months ago.

Its a fine knit and its what I think you call a grey marle. I really like it but struggled with what to match it with. I bought it before skinny jeans became part of my wardrobe. I tried it today with my black skinnies, black tunic top and black and cream flats.

I realise the shaping at the bottom of the vest has potential to add to my hip area, however I am hoping the slim line underneath creates a bit of balance. I did wonder if a high contrast scarf might be an idea.. WDYT.

Anyway, I wore #2 to church this morning.
#1 is the back view and #3 is where I started with a short sleeve top but it was too cold and I had to change into long sleeves.

Deborah it was a lovely piece and I can see why you would have bought it. The back view is spectacular. I prefer the sleeveless look but of course you can't go cold!

I don't think the hip line is a problem. This style is intended to be voluminous around the hips - it doesn't mean that the body underneath is

Oooh, does it swish when you walk? Your pretty vest looks like it has a bit of movement possible with it!

I love the look in #2 more (and your poor cold arms!) I find that the longer line of the sleeves help to negate the "hip issue" that you have identified as a potential problem!

I like it a lot.

The "issue" of shape adding to the bottom area is not much of an issue - it's hard to tell whether it's a vest feature or your 'area' so it comes down to how you feel wearing it. I think this is perfect styling, sleeved top, skinnies and striking pendant necklace.

I'd say wear it a bit more and embrace it fully.

Hmm. It's not so much where the vest ends ( which is below the wide part of your hips). It's that with the layer underneath, the whole effect is that of a triangle (not inverted). Is there a way to make it hang straighter? Belt it, perhaps? I really like the texture, shape and color (especially with your coloring), btw.

I like how you styled it with long tee underneath, this is an outtanding pice for sure, I too am in a mood of loving longer lengths for cardis and vests nowadays....they elongate a lot one's frame!

I love the way your wore this today, Deborah. The sleeves give balance to your top half. The sweaters/vests like this that I have seen out and about are usually a little shorter and hug the bum curve. Have you shrunk out of this one, or it it supposed to be longer and looser (forgive my style ignorance!)?

I think that this is very cool. I actually like the sleeveless version the best, but they all work for me! I like the vest volume matched with the skinnies.

You've styled it well! It's funny because I struggled with a grey marl cocoon sweater several years ago. It seemed great in theory but I had a hard time matching it up to things in my closet. It looks great against the black!

Mochi, I have tried belting but it adds too much around my bottom/hip area so not really an option.
