HI Ladies, Happy Easter to you all. We had a great church service this morning and DH was thrilled. He is responsible for much of the creative aspects at church and put together a very thought provoking and meaningful service. The three of us then went out to a fave place for lunch and then visited my MIL who in hospital again. My skinny camos received some attention today with my friend's hubby asking I was going to be posting them and another friend commenting that I wore them well:) So this is what I wore today. Black slouchy jacket, black top with silver beading and skinny camo pants. Wedge heeled suede pumps and earring I bought yesterday at the big Easter Fair we each year. I have realised recently that I quite enjoy a touch of whimsy through my jewellery. Thanks for looking. xxx Deborah

I have the next three Mondays off work so DH and I can balance time with Master 10 over the holidays. It means for the next three weeks I have a 5 day weekend, woohoo! I don't work Fridays or Tuesdays....more time on YLF he he. Are you girls pleased to be on holiday? I cannot believe how quickly fist term has gone!

Deborah, happy Easter to you and your family. I like how you made camos look fancy with such a pretty top. I have been working on replenishing my casual wardrobe capsule, and would like to include a pair of camo pants, but they're hard to find here - probably because we're headed into spring/summer, not fall/winter. I'm always late to the party *sigh*!

Blessed Resurrection Day, Deborah! This is my first in over 20 years when I actually sat next to my husband! He is now a full-time professor,and no longer pastoring and we are in a new church. Actually, it was kind of nice just to be there and not be responsible, but I know well the deep pleasure of knowing that the worship service we prepared (I did music) was both God-honoring and well-received. DH deserves a good rest!

I actually got my DH in DEEP TROUBLE with the higher ups for wearing real camouflage pants in church. We were doing a skit to promote a "Bible Boot Camp" class, and I was the "Drill Sargent." A lady complained to the Presbytery that the Pastor was holding militaristic demonstrations in the service. We still get a chuckle out of that!

These look amazing on you, of course, and are perfect for a busy day. Sounds like DH is a fan, too, which always makes an outfit a little more fun. The earrings are subtle, but playful --- a winning combination!

Your Easter outfit is beautiful, and it sounds like you had a lovely day to match. I like the way you dressed up those camouflage skinnies--you DO wear them well! The earrings are so pretty; I like their subtle allusions, color and theme, to the camo pants.

Angie your comment re non-traditional easter outfit was quite thought provoking. One of the things I have noticed on YLF, and also from a friend who travels to work in the US, is that the US seems to be more conservative, with perhaps more guidelines on what is appropriate for any given occasion. I think this can vary depending on what part of the States people are from too. I am not suggesting the US contingent here is conservative, it's just something that comes across more in the conversations about what to wear when etc. and also from the fact that my friend has an Aussie wardrobe and a US wardrobe:)

I think in Australia (Aussie girls correct me if I am wrong) we may be a little more relaxed. I know I am particular about weddings and funerals but any other event is fair game for my styling adventures Having said that I would never not consider the event, host, etc as my intention would never be to offend anyone by my presentation.

Spiffy, my church is very conservative:) I think that might be why the camos received the attention they did lol. I come from a much less conservative church background where this outfit probably wouldn't have been noticed in particular.

Beth Ann your service sounds wonderful and how lovely to sit with your DH. I didn't:) But as you know from experience you get used to it. I can imagine how much you are now enjoying having your DH with you in church. We don't even travel to church together and I wonder if it's been the same for you. I did have Master 10 sitting with me (not the same.. but..) Love your story about the camo pants...people are funny! While these were find for attending a service, they are not something I would wear if I were on the platform:)

Yes Deborah, I would agree. I think there is much less sense here in Australia of wearing things for a particular occasion. No "holiday dressing" or Easter outfits. Extends to house decorations too. Christmas will bring out the decorations but practically nothing else.

Anne, good point. I do actually have a few Easter decorations I put out but you have reminded me that in the busyness, I forgot to put them out this year:(

I wouldn't wear them up the front, only because I don't like my clothes to be a distraction, but I think those pants would be fine at my church.
