Travel week 3 and running out of steam and ideas. I'm talking to farmers this week, so jeans are fine, but I didn't want to go too literal, so no denim shirt or cowboy boots.
I'm finding that black and white is my friend right now, requires the least amount of thought. Not crazy about this outfit but it was the fifth or sixth I tried. I do love the new belt, which seems to improve every outfit.

Ps I desperately need a haircut. Doesn't that make everything worse???

I think you look great...and I'm a fan of black and gray whenever I'm traveling. Just makes it so much easier to mix and match to create multiple looks with fewer pieces. So I totally get the "black and white is my friend right now" thing

I agree that you look great. Did you see Amiable's recent blog post with her grey blazer, sparkly sweater, and jeans? She's planning outfits for meetings with construction workers--there might be overlap there for you.

IKWYM about the haircut. Mine is now two weeks overdue. Between family illness and work stuff, I've had to keep putting it off. No matter what I wear these days, all I notice is my hair. Can you schedule a cut soon?

My hair is like a raccoon on my head at the moment, so I know how you feel! It's so hard to find time to get these things attended to!

I love the simple tonal palette -- the bit of sheen in the grey top, the bright structure in the belt, the fit of the jeans. I think you're doing great! Sometimes simple is just what's called for.

Perhaps your dissatisfaction is signaling a style shift or just a deep, unrequited desire for spring!

Awesome belt. I'm discovering that it's sometimes the smallest thing that can bring an outfit together. You look great! I'm also gravitating toward black/ivory for FFBOs. It just requires less thought than a colorful outfit and always looks put together. Have a great week.

I've put off my hair cut for so long it's passed through its awkward phase & is now looking deliberate again. heehee

It's interesting the comments on black/white/grey for travel -- I have definitely realized that this palette takes much of the stress out of work travel, and I really don't feel the need to be ultra-fashionable when moderating. In fact, it's probably best not to be. Participants should not be too intrigued by what I am wearing, so a neutral palette makes a lot of sense.

I'm also becoming more drawn to this palette in general, with navy adn citron accents, which does make me wonder (Beth Ann!) if I am moving toward a shift, at least tonally. I'm much less interested in deep pink and pinky red, which used to be a pretty common color area for me.

Windchme: Hair appointment one week from today! Cannot wait.

E, it would take quite a while to get to another deliberate phase ... I just don't have that patience right now!

I can relate to the irritation of hair in need of a trim that just doesn't sit right and makes one feel a little shaggy!

Oh Lyn, I know that feeling! It's so crazy when that happens, but I try not to be fooled by that momentary hair bliss. It's never long lasting. Must trust the appointment!!
