WIW: Denim Shirt Dress - YouLookFab Forum

Hi Ladies!

I really love a shirt dress and was inspired by Angie's blog post to follow up one I had seen on line.

I posted about it the other day for any of the Aussie contingent that might be interested and I wore it today, so I thought I would show you:)

This style and fabrication is really not the most flattering for my shape BUT I think I have got it to JFE status:). Please tell me if I haven't.

It's easy to wear, comfy and I felt good in it. I'm wearing a jersey dress length Cami underneath so that it falls smoothly and doesn't catch on my leggings. I did add a black scarf while out and about.

Thanks for looking. You thoughts and suggestions always much appreciated.

BTW I am an avid instagrammer and there is a filter on this pic to make the background a bit more interesting:).

I love the photo! The blue of the dress so vibrant. I think JFE - no button gape (my nemesis). You look like a model as always! Great find.

You look beautiful in this rich shade of blue. I think the dress is more than JFE, especially the way you have styled it. That is a great idea to wear a knit layer underneath to prevent catching.

Not sure about your weather now, may be too cold, but I love wearing mine with bare legs and loafers or sneakers. I'm patiently (well, maybe not so patient) waiting for it to be warm enough!

GREAT denim dress Deborah! Looks super here, especially with the exposed forearms. The little black bracelet is a nice tie-in (hah!) to the other black elements. I can imagine this dress looks super in motion. And as Elizabeth mentioned when you swing back to warmer temps this would be fun with some loafers or high-vamped sandals.

Amazing outfit! I like Beth Ann's description--elegant! You manage to make a denim dress look simply elegant, and with a bit of edge. This look is a bit of departure from your drapy styles, but it looks just as good, and sounds like it was just as comfy for you to wear. It is indeed flattering.

Thanks so much Fabbers. I don't think this will be on regular rotation but will be one of those things I pull out every now and again for a change. I am looking forward to wearing it 'duster' style and open over an outfit.
