WIW: Coffee With My Boyfriend (shorts that is..)

Hi Ladies,

Am trying to capture some of my casual summer outfits despite the temptation not to bother (as you may know summer dressing is not as exciting to me as winter)

Today was a bit cooler, mid 20's ... phew.

Went for a coffee at a girlfriend's home this morning (our sons are friends at school). The boys played Xbox while we sat on the deck and chatted and bottle fed a 3 week old lamb that had been abandoned by its mother ... So cute:)

I wore my boyfriend shorts, blue cami top under my open weave black sweater with my silver loafers. Accessories were just my wedding ring, watch and earrings for a dash of colour.

The BF shorts are so comfortable and I feel this is a reasonable casual representation of my style with elements that are consistent with my more dressy outfits.

I especially like the open weave top and the silver loafers. They look stylish, comfortable, and they look like they could be dressed up or down. The earrings add a slight touch of color, which I often forget to do in casual outfits. Very nice!

Really nice, Deborah -- this is SO helpful to me and I am glad you posted. You know how I struggle with summer style and I, too, am looking for just what you describe -- a "reasonable representation" of my style using summer elements. Love your accessory choices here. I think this silhouette works great for hot weather and it is one I really like. I do not have swingy tops like this and feel a sorely need them. I remember back in the 90s when trapeze tops were briefly in style -- I had three sleeveless ones in silk and I recall those summers as being my absolute most fashionable! I wore with slim stretchy skirts or shorts, simple sandals, and a cuff or bracelet - and just loved them.
