WIW CC Valentine’s Day - sort of

Dear Fabbers,

My Valentines outfit not so Valentines, but I stretched my style. I am wearing a knitted jumper! And a large necklace!
I am wearing a pair of my purple satin dressy party trousers and combine them with a burgundy knitted jumper. First time. Added a burgundy-red ombré silk scarf to fill the wide neckline and a huge gold necklace with red stones. Cognac boots and brown/burgundy/tan bag.

The second outfit is a casual version for later. Same dressy trousers, jumper and boots. A Kenzo scarf from the nineties, large sunglasses and a hunting bag. Also a chunky bracelet with stones.

The last is an attempt to use an old belt bag....It is a designer one, lol, and I bought it some twelve years ago, when I still wanted to emphasize my waist. Not so much any more .... Maybe I could carry it in my hand? The colour is perfect with the trousers.

Off to dinner in the first outfit. Nice to use the trousers in another way and use an orphan jumper with them. I like the colours together.

But what do you guys think? Style stretch ok? Too much with the huge necklace? Honest feedback would be much appreciated.

What a creative and fabulous outfit, Katerina. I like both the necklace and the scarf and want to experiment with belt bags as a way to keep my car key fob handy so I'll not put it down somewhere, so I appreciate seeing what you have done with yours. Nothing looks like too much. What footwear are you wearing?

Well, Katerina! I can't believe you haven't worn this beautiful combo before. Your accessories are lovely, but the way you combine them makes the whole greater than the sum! I bet those patent booties would work really well with day 3's outfits - especially the middle one with the blazer style jacket.

Gorgeous! You look amazing in these alternative dark colors. I love the first outfit with the necklace - it makes me want to pull out my bold necklaces and give it a go. The scarf is fantastic especially with that bag. Regarding the beautiful belt bag - I think it works but is competing with the scarf. I would also try it lower slung if it is long enough. I have also seen pictures of women wearing them like a very high cross body - not sure that would work but worth a try!

Bonnie and cjh, thank you very much. Cjh, I wear the scarf often, but the necklace not so much. My ambition is to use more of the large necklaces I have. I have a few and I like them, but when I dress, I often reach for a scarf instead. I am ready for a change now. I am so glad you like this one.

Shevia, thank you very much for the great feedback. I hope you will pull out your necklaces, knowing how fantastic pieces you have in your wardrobe, I am sure they are just great. Re belt bag, I agree with you, not good like this. The belt is unfortunately quite short, so it does not work as a cross body. It is possible to wear it as a kind of a shoulder bag, perhaps that would be a way.

Kate, thank you very much. The bag in the first outfit is a bit funny. It is actually a gentlemen's cosmetic bag from ETRO. I liked the shape and the colours, so I bought it as a handbag for me some years ago. It was on clearance then so I got it for a very good price, especially compared with what an ETRO bag would normally cost. It is made of waxed canvas and leather and it has a subtle burgundy/brown paisley pattern. I am glad you like it. As Angie says, leave no stone unturned :-).

These are beautiful and you are doing so well with this style challenge, not wearing dark neutrals and reigning in the scarves. Although my absolute favourite is #4, that scarf is incredible on you and the colours work so well together. You never cease to amaze me at the treasures in your wardrobe and accessory collection.

This is a beautiful dressy knit, so whilst it makes for a wonderful variation to your more tailored style, it still looks authentically Katerina.

I am very glad about the challenge outcome, I did some for me unusual colour combinations day 1 - tonal light neutrals, day 3 I used new to me style of trousers - wide cropped patterned trousers, I used light footwear and day 4 I wore a knitted sweater with a huge necklace and a new colour combination - burgundy with purple.. It was fun and gave me some more options.
