WIW casual motg with Fryes and bootcuts

I haven't been feeling my Fryes and bootcuts lately but decided to pull them out for a day of casual motg errands. Is this combo still ok?

Frye Carson shorties, joes jeans, target t, loft scarf and cascading cardigan.

I think it's a great casual look for busy days! I don't understand why bootcuts don't get that much love at the moment, I think it's a classic look and I like how you styled them.

I like it! Perfect for a casual day. I still love my bootcuts too.

I am actually considering selling my Carson shorties. I love the look but they are not comfy for me at all. (Dunno why, they are almost flat and yet they give me horrid ball-of-foot pain).

I think it still looks good, but I think you are not feeling bootcuts at the moment. It's a perfect look for MOTG and works when it's too soon for ballet flats and skinnies.

I'm actually really liking the boot cut silhouette. I love skinnies tucked into boots and it's so incredibly practical, especially here in rainy Seattle, but it seems like that's almost all I see anymore. It's nice to see the bootcuts come out to play!

Diana, have you considered an insole? It might help if you still like the style.

I definitely feel like I am kind of over bootcuts but they still look good and are very practical for otg days. I got the fryes when I first started my wardrobe overhaul and I never really loved them. But they are good shoes and I am giving them another shot.

Rita, I've tried every type of insole I own in these Fryes, and they still hurt. (I think Jean had the same problem as me... so it might just be our fussy feet.) I'm honestly not totally in love with the look for me either, but they are my only summery boots and they are an almost perfect nude match for my skin color, so I've kept them so far. They are on probation though...

I think it's great for a casual motg look! The scarf is beautiful, and I think Fryes and bootcuts are a classic now.

I think you look great, but I'm still digging Frye Carson shorties with my bootcuts - I'm especially looking forward to wearing them now that spring is on the way - I've been wearing skinnies mostly all winter, and I want to switch things up.

I think this look is fine, doesn't look dated but doesn't look trendy either. Have you tried tucking and with a blazer for a 70s approach?

Rita, I haven't been feeling my bootcuts llately either, but seeing them on you makes me realize that's just silly - because they look great! So I vote yay.

I'm thinking that for me they are a more summer look now since the wet hem issue is just too much here in winter.

Denise - these pants aren't practical for tucking due to the low rise. I like that 70's look and have done it with my long and leans, but I think the rise on those is too long.

This is a perfect MOTG look. It's casual, put together and is practical. I think our eyes have become so accustomed to a skinny silhouette we have forgotten how great a Bootcut looks!

Rita: You look great. I love to see these colors arranged so nicely, since I have difficulty with low contrast. I like the fit and look of the bootcuts and I really like the tan boots. I'm with Denise in thinking that a jacket would be great with this, and I totally understand the rise/tucking issue. I'm finding this with my jeans, too!

I still love boot cuts! I think this is a fab MOTG ensemble. I suspect your personal preferences have changed though and maybe that's why you're not quite feeling this look anymore?
