wiw: burgundy, purple, grey and a nip of cognac

It is not often I get a chance to try out the Friday ensemble, on account of it generally having a seasonal aspect. But the combination of burgundy, eggplant and grey is one that I am very drawn to, so I thought I would have a go.

I wore this outfit to work yesterday. The outfit consists of a dark grey ruched tube skirt with a subtle print on it, purple mixed media top (silk and linen) and an ombre burgundy and grey scarf. (I LOVE ombre!) I teamed it with cognac sandals and bag. That makes 4 colours! Pretty good for a low affinity colour mixer!

I don't wear summer weight scarves very often but I do like the way they waft about the place as you walk around. Makes me feel like I am in one of those old fashioned fragrance ads for Tabu or Charlie. Remember those?

I love the scarf here but also rarely wear scarves in summer. It adds a lot to the look, definitely pulls it together.

I loved your shorts looks too - I am almost "out of steam" this year and have been lurking rather than commenting the last week or two.

I agree the scarf really adds to the outfit. I should have taken a photo without it to demonstrate.

Love a nip of cognac with burgundy. As others said, the scarf is magic. The cognac lightens the darker colors while the scarf brightens and calls attention to your face. I also remember those commercials.
