WIW: bored at work

Sorry, you can't see the shoes. I've added another picture of them as well. This is the only mirror available to me at work. I've never buttoned a shirt up this high before, but I don't mind it so much.

My trouble with work outfits is feeling comfortable and myself in them. It's not part of my style to dress up so much. I'm not sure how to liven this look up a little bit.

You look very cute! Very preppy (which I hope you think is a good thing).

You could add a little scarf at the neck.

Thanks, ladies. To take the boring factor down just a tad, I am mixing 3 different patterns here although you can't make it out in the pictures. 2 pinstripes and another subtle pattern on the shirt that I can't describe.

Hmmm a scarf with a button down. Now there is something I would have no clue how to attempt. Time to start googling.

So I tried a little something new with scrunching my sleeve up and turning the cuff up. It seems to look ok. Baby steps, right?

The other thing I've done is tuck in my shirt, which I NEVER do, because up until now I haven't had a shirt/pant combo that was long enough (extra long rise). However, I'm not sure I'm loving this particular combo either, because the pants don't have belt loops. Looks a bit off to me.

I aspire to look this casually polished on days when I have to dress up a little.I don't see this as boring at all - everything fits you so well in such a cool understated way.

It looks great with the sleeves pushed up, adds some extra structure along with some nonchalance. For additional accessories (which I agree with AG, it looks great minimal but polished as-is) you could try dangly earrings, some shorter dainty layered necklaces or a bib-type statement necklace tucked into the collar, or a silk scarf at the neck.

Love this look and all the pieces work as AG says. The blue BR shirt is just the right color of blue, too. Scrunching, metallic or pearl necklaces, pocket scarf or any of these would be fun to add to the mix.
