WIW: Beating the heat in blue and white

I've been road testing a few clothing items for an upcoming trip and yesterday it was so warm I decided to wear my denim bermudas. The third photo is of my cat wearing a sack dress, which he seldom does, so I thought I'd better get a photo when I could.

1 Banana Republic striped tee, J. Brand white skinnies, WHBM bow belt, J, Crew red flats (Yay! I used Angie and her Mum's wet feet trick to make the shoes more pliable and comfortable and it worked so well!).
2 J. Crew boy's gingham shirt, Tilly's denim shorts, Alfani gold sandals (I rarely wear sandals, but I was having a pedi), beige suede belt. This shirt definitely will get Angie's sleeves-sewing technique.
3 My cat, Chase, in beige. Wrong color for him. But, he makes the bag look good.

4 Just added what I'm wearing today: a Levi red label denim dress with black leggings and red flats

5 AE citron V-neck knit top and citron cami with AE aqua and citron infinity scarf, white jeans

Love your WIWs -- you look great in Bermudas! And, why don't you wear sandals that often, I'm curious?

As for your (unwilling?) style blogger Chase -- the square shape of his dress is very dramatic against his round, soft face. Great example of the "juxtapositions" style trend!

Thank you, both. I think I may take #1 (or some variation with dark denim bottoms) on my trip. You are hysterical, CocoLion, and, yet, remarkably accurate in your observations and feline fashion savvy. As to the non-wearing of sandals and open-toed shoes, I guess I don't like my long toes and flat feet exposed. But, summertime and So. Cal. living calls for it.

I don't know who is cuter, you or Chase!! He could be a cousin to my Max and Rae's Hank -- a furrier version. He looks as if he thinks he is boss of the world. Bossin' the world from a paper bag, since 2010!!

Ha ha ha! I looked at the thumbnail of the cat picture and thought, her cat has a dress? And lets her put him in it? That's some cat! Then I saw the full picture and had to laugh, both at myself and at how cute Chase is. Adorable!

I think we are J Crew gingham shirt twins--mine is a perfect shirt from last year. I LOVE that shirt. I swear I must have worn it almost every other day throughout the summer last year and I intend to again this year!

Your styling on each of these looks fantastic! I especially love the gingham short and bermudas combo and the gorgeous colors in the last photo. So lovely!

Each outfit is special on its own right. I am very taken with the outfit in #1...wow. I didn't read your post before looking at the pictures and your adorable kitty did take me by surprise:). And I must say kitty looks way better in a sack dress than I do lol

Well these are all lovely. I like how you offset the length in pic one with a wisely placed belt. And the sandals in pic 2 give the outfit a totally new twist on this classic formula. I would have liked to see them better! Pic 4 is my least favourite. Something seems to be missing. Maybe an unconventional sun hat or a cap?
But pic 5! Oh, this one has to be my favourite! So sunny and happy! Perfect fit on the jeans too. Again, wish I could see the footwear. May I copy?
