WiW and What I almost wore!

I had #1 on and after taking the picture, I didn't like the proportions, so I opted for #2.

Cream Turtleneck Sweater - Banana Republic
Jacket - Talbots (BC - before child - so a size smaller than I have been buying. Hubs assured me it fit)
Ponte Knit Skirt - Lands End (this passed YLF muster, but I am feeling a bit unsure about it)
Fleece lined tights - Amazon
Boots - Tayrn Rose
Necklace - birthday present from DH

What would you do differently? How can I make this better?

Hmm, I actually like the belted look. It is more...polished maybe? I think it's the crinkle under the jacket in 2 that is throwing me off, although I do like the color combo.

Do you love your fleece lined tights? I have been thinking of buying some.

It is great to see you in a skirt! I think the belt actually works, but I know for me they always seems to require a lot of adjusting throughout the day. Especially over a sweater. This is a great colour combo, you look lovely!

I think #1 could use a bit more color by your face. I like white tops and always get this comment too! In #2 you achieve that but lose the nice shilouette on #1. Perhaps next time a statement necklace, or scarf with #1 could achieve that. I am really liking the skirt and boots, those are super FAB!

ETA: In #2 the jacket brings a nice balance to your shoulder line but obscures your waist some, maybe belt over the jacket to bring in the waist definition.

I actually prefer the proportions in #1!

May I suggest leaving off the dainty necklace worn over the turtleneck in #2.

It's not that I dislike the red jacket over the turtleneck. It's that #1 looks more updated and #2 looks comparatively more conservative.

You need a denim jacket! That would look amazing with this outfit.

I love my fleecelined tights! It was 19F this morning when I left the house, so without them, I would NOT be wearing a skirt.

Hmmm, is belting over a blazer still okay? I will have to try it and see how it looks!

I agree! #1 is fab! Do you have any larger pendants or necklaces? I think they'd work well with the t-neck. The necklace your wearing would be beautiful with a blouse or collared shirt.

I wonder is the look in #2 is something you feel "safe" with Thistle? I really like #1. It is sleek and modern:). The slim belt looks good and the skirt is so fab:).
