WIW and musings about fashion evolution(has there been any?)

Dear YLF,
This Easter weekend we decided to spend a couple of days at Niagara Falls. As DH and I were talking we realized that he was wearing the same jacket that he wore the first time we visited Niagara almost 4 years ago.Me, not so much.
This got me thinking how much, if any my style changed in that period of time.

#1-The striped dolman sleeve sweater is new. Having been in a blue/cobalt mood lately I surprised myself for wanting this in red when there was a cobalt version of this that would go with things I already owned.The bomber jacket is older and I had no intention of wearing it this year until Angie started talking about them.
#2-The polka dot t-shirt is new and I am wearing a cardigan under the jacket.

#3-The evolution(?)- starting from left the first two outfits were what I wore back in October 2009, the third was one of my first outfits with skinny jeans in 2010 and finally the last ones I wore.The bag looks the same but it is not.I find camel bags very versatile and the last one is n upgrade from the first.

Besides the clear change in color palette, does anyone see something changing, improving, getting dressier/more casual, something?
I would love to hear your opinions because mine are tainted by the fact that in all of them I see myself.

ETA: I also didn't get shorter, in every picture I am wearing flat shoes but I couldn't make the photos all proportional.

I really like all of these outfits on you. It's great that you have renewed your interest in the bomber jacket, because it looks great. I love the stripes and dots, the red and cobalt, with your black skinnies and flats. A couple of striking looks on you!
The evolution to me seems a move to the bold, classic graphics of stripes and dots, along with the color palette changing from earth tones to vivid red, cobalt, black, white. Your hair style seems to be more streamlined, too, in keeping with the new style direction.

Yes, I see more confidence, somehow. It may be simply the brighter colours -- you do not blend into the background as much! Or it may be the slightly different silhouette -- with skinnies replacing boot cuts. It looks as if you are still wearing mostly "dressy casual" MOTG looks (and I see somebody hiding behind you in #1!) which suits your life and your needs. You look terrific!

I think your style has become more free-spirited (!)

Firstly may I say YLF. The changes I see are to a more confident you in a slightly more dramatic style and bolder colours.

Your evolution post was really inspiring and it's great to see this movement in your style. I agree that there is a comfort with color in your style evolution. I must add that in photo #3 that I really like the blue watercolor tunic you're wearing. That almost reminds me of Niagara Falls!
