Thanks so much for your help. I think I'll hem them a little longer--it's tough to gauge when it's a new style! I can always go shorter if I have to. Glad the asymmetric hem dress is getting a thumbs up. It's Caslon from several years ago when that hem line was new--I think it was after my achilles tendon rupture and I was trying to find anything that was cast friendly. It's also SJ Earthquakes colors which makes me happy.
@Cardiff girl: Thank you. I think it’s just such a different style for me that it looks odd. I’m only used to seeing myself in jeans and I think Angie nailed it--the look is missing a bit of rugged. I’m going to try it with a denim shirt and see if it feels more me. This iteration is a bit too business-y for me.
@torontogirl: Thank you!
@Sharan: Thank you--I am going to follow your advice and hem a bit longer. I think they’re a tad too short too after studying the picture. I do have a pair of narrow shaft booties that might work--especially if I leave them a little longer. I’ll have to play around with them. And the oxfords--I have one cream pair that I never wear. This may be a good time to bring them back into rotation. Thanks for all the great ideas!
@smittie: Thank you!
@Angie: Thank you! I do believe that chambray shirt will add a bit of rugged to the outfit and make it feel more me. You are brilliant!
@lisa: Thank you!
@Isabel: You’re so right. Denim is such a big part of my style--they’re integral to my tomboy style.
@staysfit: thanks!
@Notsaf: thank you. I elected to keep the dress It plays well with several of my toppers and is enough of a blank slate that I can wear with almost everything!
@always trying: Thank you. I agree. They looked awkward at full length--these are regular short, not petite. Not sure why they are so long for supposedly being crops?
@christy: thank you. Hope to rock to Sloanes as fabulously as you one day soon!
@Jenni: thank you! Those are actually perforations--not checks. They’re one of my favorite summer booties. So airy and cool!
@Robin: Thank you! The more I look at the picture, the more I think they need to be longer!
@suntiger: Thank you!
