Wiw: a summer pattern mix - YouLookFab Forum

I do love blue! Here I tried mixing my converted 'dress to blouse' navy & blue topper with my striped blazer..with tie dye wedges and a snake belt to boot! 10 for happiness...but does it work for you?

Aside..yesterday felt like the end of summer..we never have super warm days but it just felt a bit colder. This morning I awoke to frostrøyk on the lake. Frost smoke, the literal translation, is cold stream that happens when the lake is warmer than the air. A sure sign of autumn to me. I even had to wear driving gloves.

Sadly I will pack away the most summery clothes now...but keep a few for those surprise days. I am returning to my spring wardrobe as I am not ready for the grey and rich tones of fall.

My toes were a bit chilly this morning. But I am sure later today will be glorious sun.

Jayne this is so cool. Glorious pattern mixing:) For me the shoes are a little much but I think you carry it off well. They bookend the blouse and you seem like you are quite tall so this works.

We've had frost smoke too (what a cool name!) on the river that runs through the campus where I work.

Oh Jayne- we are 'belt-twins'!
I thrifted a belt least week exactly like this, and wore it with my B.F. jeans, knit top and long boots and it blended really well, as it does here with your pattern mixed blouse and jacket.

You look amazing! We need a close-up of those shoes. I love this clean crisp look on you. It appears you have the sporty white trend all figured out in your own way. The quality of your clothes really comes across in the pictures.

I would happily wear all this except the shoes. Not that there's anything wrong with them - I love touches of the whimsical - but it's not my style of whimsical. On you, they're fantastic.

Great pattern mixing. I'm not feeling that the shoes really work though. Something about them seems to not "go" with the rest of the outfit.

I'm with the others, I love it all minus the shoes. But, if they make you happy, it's all good! I LOVE your blazer. It's feeling like fall around here, too. I love fall, but am sad to see the summer end.

Great outfit with fabulous mixing! I noticed this weekend that the leaves are starting to turn gold on the trees and there's a definite crispness to the air in the morning. Fall is definitely around the corner.

The pattern mix went a well...I guess the blouse and jacket are pretty conservative so they go well...the shoes are boho all the way..so it is the style mix that is jarring some I guess....I love this outfit with gold loafers too. I will maybe post new shoe choices at home later...

Amazing! You are truly mastering the art of pattern mixing. You look awesome. I actually kind of like the shoes, too! They add a fun vibe. That belt is really pretty. I didn't know that frostrøyk can't be translated directly - frost smoke sounds perfectly natural to me:)
