Wiw. A frumpy look

I kind of felt like wearing these items today, as I was feeling drained and not quite well and like fading into the background. But there is no denying this is a frumpy look is there!:-) A while ago I did a K/toss on this top and today clinched it for me - toss!

Any comments welcome

I think my hair is adding to the frump.

And BTW I felt much better after a good rest in my lunch break

The outfit isn't awful, but it does serve its purpose. Good call on the top.

we all have those days….but i'm with lyn d, change out the shoe, maybe for a pointed toe flat, and it would change out the outfit.

I like the top; look at how it looks in the last photo. I think a tuck or semi tuck would look great! it just seems too long. Why not try all the suggestions and see how it looks?

My guess that our outfits often reflect the mood and temper. Not every day is sunny and encouraging. Regardless, you look great: the top is simple yet lovely, and beads surely add some contrast!

Actually, I think if this top was about 2 inches shorter, it might work so much better. The proportions in #1 are the only thing that's off here. You're good with alterations, perhaps it's worth considering? I like the colours on you.

Hope you're feeling better. How about moving that top into summer rotation? I think it would be cute with white shorts.

Thanks for all the sympathy and comments - just a few quick replies as I need to be off to bed to prevent my being so tired tomorrow too!

Shoes - yes I realised (too late) darker shoes would have been better. But I needed comfortable shoes as I hurt my legs yesterday on the treadmill. I really must start wearing my new orthotic shoes (patent red) for which I spent nearly 1/2 a year of my clothing budget and are the reason I can't buy pointy flats alas, or anything else!

Jay S - I'm in Australia so it practically is summer still here! And wearing it with white clams was my favourite combination. Unfortunately, because the top requires a cami, it is actually too warm to wear for a good proportion of our very hot summers (AC at work though)

Ornella and Suz, I appreciate the suggestions. I think I could see this best tucked into a skirt. But I also think the ruffles are dating this. Considering I bought this for about $10 maybe 4 years ago, it would be ok to toss as well wouldn't it?

I agree that this top, tucked would work with a skirt, and I love the colors and the plaid, which is trending now. However, sometimes it's time to say "thanks and goodbye" to items that are taking up space and not giving happiness. Only you can know whether it's worth keeping.

Hope you feel more energetic soon. Try to carve out some time to take care of yourself!

It would. I haven't paid attention to ruffles. I don't consider them as much dated as a matter of strong personal preference. Sounds like you're ready to let go whichever way one looks at this

You are so pretty, you couldn't really look frumpy if you tried.

I was going to suggest maybe a fab new hairstyle!
