WIW: A dress a week August challenge #3

Here's my response to Mo's August challenge about wearing more dresses:

Nice temperature today, around 78F and sunny weather! I decided to use my new orange wedges http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ane-wedges which now are keepers, and I have this beige jersey dress with empire cut to pair them with. I also have a cobalt blue cardigan, thrifted from my daughter's closet, that I tried to add to the ensemble. I belted it, then unbelted again - I'm not really sure how it looks. I omitted the entire cardigan because it is too hot after all. Today I'm at home all day, doing a few preparations for tomorrow and some housework, so no makeup is needed.

I'm looking forward to seeing Mo's dress this week!

What do you think about the belt? Any suggestions are welcome as always!

I like the purple cardi and yellow shoes with the dress! I think a gold colored necklace or a cuff bracelet would look great with it.

Those shoes are really great, I think you will have a lot of fun with them.

I like the belted look best!
As for my dress today, I think I am opting out of the LBD. It is lined and then layered over again with mesh. That's already 3 layers before I add a cargo vest or other item to dress it down appropriately. In our temps, and being black, it just is too much!
Going for the mod shift instead. Won't have pics for a bit (lazy sleep in Sunday morning schedule!) but I will post them as soon as I do.

I like the dress with the cardigan and belt. And those shoes really make the outfit sing. You look professional but approachable--a winning combination!

So, belted it is then! YLF has spoken:) Thank you, ladies, I really appreciate the feedback. I agree with you, the look is a lot more finished with the belt on. Come to think of it, I also have a blue-grey blazer that might look good with that belt! The shoes have been on for six hours, but I needed to give my feet a rest now. The fit is fine, but they are still a bit on the tight side until they get more wear. I hope they will become eight hours walking shoes eventually. I really love them on my feet:)

@Kristin: The gold necklace/bracelet is a brilliant idea. I'll do that if I consider this outfit for use outside the house!

@RC: Thanks *blush*! I try to run a little a few times a week myself. Could be it.

@Mo: I hear you on the LBD. It sounds very wise to change it for another. I'm looking forward to your pics!

very very pretty...I loved the belted look also but wondered if you had a brown one...just to match the dress

I do, Jayne, albeit in a darker tone than the dress, and will try this at once! I feel that the white belt added too much contrast, but a brown belt will be more subtle. Thanks:)

I like the unbelted look best, but do think it works with the belt too. And so glad you are keeping those orange wedges, such happy shoes!
