WIW: A Colorful Work Day

Hi Ladies!

With the weather cooling down and my colleague on leave I needed some color to brighten up the day. (it's very quiet at work, hence I have time to post while at the office!)

You saw this tunic last year and I am hoping the tunic/leggings look is still current 'cos I really enjoy wearing it.

(these are new and are pretty much as substantial as a pant)
Rivers boots
Cotton On Scarf
New Purple Coat

Deborah! I love your funny expressions and you always have such a great story behind them. Now I'm imagining your DH, coffee mug in hand, hair standing on end mocking you as you pose in all seriousness!

What a wonderful tunic. Love the color and wild print. The pattern mix with the scarf makes it even more exciting and how can you not mention that amazing bag in your credits? What in the world kind of uber cool bag is that?!! Just when I think I have your style all figured out, you go and surprise me. Does your DH appreciate that you are a woman of mystery? Well I do!

Claire, the bag is actually a lap top bag! I don't use a lap top but I do carry my Ipad and I thought this bag looked retro and would be a great weekend bag and sometime work bag. And thanks, I do like to 'mix it up' a bit but I dont think I stray too far from my 'base' style:)

Definitely works for this year. I can track the weather change week by week by your WIW posts - it must be getting slightly cooler as you are layering scarfs now! And I love the purple scarf -very rich color.

Shannon, hubby is very naughty!

Aida, Sarah and Suz, glad you like the laptop bag. Suz, I actually have an old red airline bag that I am planning to clean up and make useable. This black bag tho is from Officeworks, an office and business supplies retail outlet here.

Anne and Kiwichic, I am a bit limited for shopping where I live so I have been putting Angie's mantra of leave no retail stone unturned in to practice. I thought stores like Suzanne Grae where for women my mum's age but really like most stores the ranges are diverse having items for various age groups. Last winter I found a lovely skirt in Rockmans that was the same as a Sportscraft skirt! You just never know what you
might find:)

Love this look, Deborah. I particularly like the flat boots -- something so refreshingly polished and yet casual about them, and the pendant over the tunic. The print (which I love) is so fun, and yet doesn't give the eye a place to center -- the pendant draws the eye and takes care of that!

The laptop bag is terrific, too! Hope you had a great day!

I think this may be one if my favorites, so fill me in here. Why is it I like photo 2 and what is it around your neck? I like that. Then, your bag, in 3, I love, but it wasn't mentioned in your list. The whole look has such an incredible vibe, Deborah, and that's why I think I like it.

Vicki, in 2 I added a red animal print scarf and I'm wearing a long silver pendant:). The bag is a laptop bag that I'm using as a handbag!!
