WIW- 70's look ( I think )

I've been meaning to try this for some time and yesterday was the day.
The combination of the orange sleevless dress, mock turtneck in cream, pendant necklace and brown boots makes me think of the 70's( even the brown patterned thights).
I can picture my mom dressed like this although there is no photographic evidence.
Over to you.what do you think of it?any comments and suggestions welcome.

Celia, that is really clever - I love how the turtleneck adds warmth and coverage, but the muted color doesn't steal the thunder of your red dress. GORGEOUS red color on you! It gives off a 70's vibe to me too, especially with the pendant necklace.
Maybe this is a wacky idea, but I wonder if your faux-fur vest would work with it too for a more casual look (or if you need to add another warm layer.)

Kari I wore the dress with the fur vest without the turtneck underneath a few months ago.But while I was dressing I was thinking that i could add it to this outfit.

This is so mod-alicious, Celia. ('60s and '70s vibe to me!) Very groovy - and warm too! Like your colour combination and the boots. I have many pics of my mom dressed in something similar throughout the 70s - good inspiration. The closest I've come to that decade's style are my jean trousers, peasant blouse, and long pendants. Would love a sheath like this!

Very fab, Celia! (Although that looks like a taupe t/neck and not a cream one).

I could see my late Mum wearing this outfit in the '70s too! She would consider it her VERY casual outfit.

Helen it is a very comfortable outfit.I'm very into this kind of dressing right now. But a peasant blouse and jeans sounds nice for spring.

Angie it is so interesting to see what is casual for some people and generations and is dressy casual for others.Sometimes I wish that people would dress up more.

Celia, you look so FAB in this! Very soft and pretty on you. Your taupe turtle looked nude in the thumbnail so I didn't realize you had layered under the dress, lol! Lovely and very 70's indeed!

I am so glad I enlarged the photo, for when I looked at the thumbnail shot I couldn't tell there was the turtle underneath - and the turtle is a great addition to the dress!
I, too, would love to see it with a furry vest!
