So I bought this top (final sale) off Yoox, because it's white, linen, and looked interesting (first pic is from Yoox). Theyskens often does some cool stuff, right? So I get it, try it on, and it is just weird. (pics 2, 3, 4...) I can't figure out how to get it to lie flat, as in the Yoox pic, without stitching it - even when I'm *not* lifting my hands up. It has a sort of bib underlayer that attaches top and bottom, and then ties across the bosom. The problem is that the bottom doesn't attach enough on top or bottom to keep it in place without blousing out. If I can't tack it, I may ebay it... life is too short to keep twitching my top into place!

I recently rediscovered these cute wooden bracelets that I bought for my daughter ages ago! I have endless meetings today and I can play with them discreetly. And the green bracelet I bought 8 years ago after I had my first ultrasound and saw my healthy baby. Just looking at it reminds me of how happy I was. So, top aside, all is well.

I like your top in theory, but it would drive me crazy! It looks so different than it was pictured. Love the bracelets and what they represent.

That top looks nothing like the picture of it - I have no advice on how to get it to lay flat though.

Gosh. That IS unusual. Looks nothing like the pic! For me the fuss factor would be too high.

Interesting top. Reminds me of my (still unworn) Allsaints lace LBD which is a wrap style with all these weird drapey bits that I have no idea what to do with. I vote stitch them all down. Or maybe stick them down with some fashion tape? That way you could take it out if you don't like it.

love the top, but how strange that it is soo different in RL. I'd vote stitch it down or use fashion tape before letting it go. if that works it would be a fab and versatile top!

Wow, it really looks nothing like the photo, does it? Stitch those flaps down, lady! If you ebay it, the buyer might come after you for an inaccurate description... o_0

Top aside, the white with the cute colored bracelets is really summery and fun!

gggrrrrrrrrrr..........honestly, did they say they were selling a top or a kit? It's like those pizzas you buy raw so you can bake them at home! Perfectly fine if you know that's what you are getting, not so much if you thought you were buying take-out.

i'm torn, i like the flapping...very dynamic, but i agree that a streamlined effect is probably what you were after. so tack them down...consider fashion tape if you might ever want the flappiness?

Have you tried a longer tank underneath, or a different color? Also, have you tried a tank that has wider straps/is not spaghetti strapped. My other idea: try a white short-sleeved or long-sleeved tee underneath. The layering potential is huge with this, as long as the neckline doesn't compete. Or, as you say, tack it down so it lies the way you want it to. I think the top is really interesting, although it looks completely different from the picture!

Love the cute coloured bracelets with a white top! So nice to be able to sink into a quiet sentimental moment during one of those neverending drills too...

Cannot understand the top! Did they send the right product size, for sure? Seems to me the bib is less problematic than the sides, which have more material than on the model and are not lying straight on you. Sewing down does seem best, even if it interferes with the fun construction.

Cocolion - no, this is the first time I've worn this so I haven't played with it. Why? I doubt that will resolve the flappy issue.

I'm going to try to tack it down, probably from below so the top drapes... we'll see.

I'm ready to take this off and burn it, and if my underpinnings weren't pretty sheer, I would. ARRGH, THEYSKENS! I CURSE YOUR LINEN TOP!

I would stitch the middle panel to the top layer's side seam ( I guess that would be just running the current stitching that's holding the middle panel to the sides of the blouse, down the entire side of the blouse). I hope that makes sense. I happen to like the top, it is salvageable.

I love the bracelets.

Zap - yeah, I'm looking at that too, but then you still see the side thickness from the underlayer and the ties.

And for the record, I am not amply endowed, I can only imagine this on a busty babe!
