Clearly I am a herd animal, because I see Angie's great denim jackets, I realize I own great denim jackets, it's actually cool enough here to *wear* said denim jackets, so I not only pull out my own denim jackets, I buy one more. (See? This is why I should shop my closet first - I totally forgot I owned one of these things, it was in a "heritage box" of stuff for DD when she gets big!)
Here are three of the five (hangs head) I own. The other two are vintage Helmut Lang denim jackets with cuffs, one black, one very dark blue. They are very crisp and slightly heavy denim, and sized so I can wear layers under. These three are cut closer to the body and are softer.
1) AG by Adriano Goldschmeid, most recent purchase. Soft and stretchy, a sort of midweight
2) Vintage Helmut Lang with cuffs. This is the first and only really faded and soft HL denim jacket I have ever found; he liked stiff denim for his jackets. It has no stretch and only fits when I am skinny.
3) Vintage Daryl K very lightweight dark denim. I bought this right out of grad school, and a few years ago I put it in a box for my kiddo to wear when she hits 15 (along with my Betsey Johnson dresses). But hey, everything old is new again, right?
...Can you even tell the difference between these...? They *feel* very different on, in terms of attitude.
- Inhabit white cotton tank
- Parkvogel tank with bra (under)
- Rag and Bone khaki chinos
- Costume National green sandals
