WIW 4-30 - Avant garde, or an interesting failure?

- under.ligne by doo.ri white draped top
- Theory linen-blend black pants
- everybody boot-sandals
- Inhabit cotton drapey cardigan

I don't typically wear hugely drapey tops, but Doori is a good friend of a friend, who I've met in person, and I like to support designers who are still actually people and not brands, if you know what I mean. This top is quite voluminous, but still a very light soft knit, and it has very clever pockets! I am a sucker for pockets.

I kindof wish these theory pants tapered at the ankle instead of flaring; they're quite stretchy so I think I can have them tailored in and still be able to get my feet through. What do you think?

And is the Inhabit cardigan too much volume for this? I think the top might get crunched up under a more tailored sweater.

As a side note, it is so horribly muggy here. I don't mind hot, but I loathe sticky. Ugh. Oh well, at least I have funny Alfalfa hair today - hard to take yourself *too* seriously when you have strands boinging up like that.

I looked at the pics first, and was also thinking that it would be good to add more taper to the pants even before I read your question.....as long as you can get your foot through as linen obviously isn't stretchy.....

The sandals are incredible....

I don't think the volume drowns you - it is cut slim through the shoulders and has an intentional volume which does not make it look like you just sized up. Plus over the slim pant, it looks sleek. That teeny flare is not very noticeable but you could have it slightly tapered I would think.

Totally works. You could have fallen right out of an AS catalog. I really like the shape of this top on you, and the cutouts of the shoes really pop with the black pants.

I luv that top especially since you mentioned that it has pockets!! The shoes are punky cool! I didn't really notice the flare of the pants until you mentioned it.

You have an urban warrior style that sometimes has a princess element to it, like at the YLF meet-up. Would you describe your style that way?

Wow definitely works - interesting shapes - I prefer your look without the cardibgan as it obscures the great shape of the white top. The shoes really finish the look.

I got my iphone case at the Apple Store in Austin's domain. I found it online here (http://www.langtoninfo.com/sho.....3365017206), but it's even more expensive online than it was in the store! It's called a folio case because it opens and closes like a book. I have to have that or my face dials when I talk.

The shoes are from last season. I don't know if you can find the same one, but they're by everybody - there are a ton of cute styles.

I like the slight flare of the pants with these shoes. And I love these shoes. The white top is voluminous but I like that too. I prefer it without the black cardi so your shoulders and arms contrast with the white volume.

This looks great, IK! I love it! I think I prefer it without the cardigan, just because the neckline and the armholes are a really interesting shape and the cardigan kind of covers them up a little bit. But I understand about getting cold indoors. It does look good both ways.
