WIW 2/9 and 2/10: Houndstooth, culottes, and new drapes

1. Today I helped judge a high school speech contest so I decided to dress up a little in a suit. I love this because it's ponte knit and feels like I'm wearing my pajamas!

Houndstooth suit: Ellen Tracy
Aqua shirt: Lady Hathaway
T-strap pumps: T.U.K.
Black satchel: Cole Haan
White belt: Target

2. Yesterday I busted out my burgundy culottes from Seattle Shoptember with an old favorite navy blazer. You can't see it very well in the photo, but the print in the blouse has a tiny maroon polka-dot that tied in the colors nicely.

3. House report: The window treatments are finally up in the guest room! Things are continuing to crawl towards completion...

Love the houndstooth, and the mint blouse and white belt keep it looking fresh and springlike. I bet the high school students thought you looked extremely professional and chic.

I am digging that houndstooth suit with the aqua. So unexpected. I had fun with houndstooth earlier this year, wearing a similar bold skirt with a red/black plaid flannel shirt over a black/white pinstriped turtleneck then toppered with a denim jacket. Paired with red tights and booties. I think it kind of scared my friends when I showed up in this sort of advanced pattern mix but I felt very MsMary. And I must also add, that carpet in the bedroom is luscious.

The first outfit is just so wow, it is fresh, it is classic,it is fun. Everything's there.
I wish I could see the second outfit better.The color of the culottes , in the stock photo, seem to be a great complement for the rest of the outfit.
