WIW : 17/4 - An OTT mismatch (yay or nay?)

Hi Fabbers

Firstly I would not call this an outfit. This morning I was in a very unusual mood re dressing and also not feeling 100% (moggy head). I only ever wear these snake print pants with a plain black T, a light grey T or a cool brown knit. They are a statement all by themselves for sure. However this morning I felt like wearing this animal logo T. Over the Top - I know! I walked to the veggie shop for apples and lettuce wearing this. No-one gave me a second glance. In a previous thread I mentioned anything goes clothing -wise here. Now I read the YLF blog post today about mismatching. Now I know that is all about colours and patterns, but here I have two animal motifs. Does this qualify as an edgy mismatch or should I never pair them together again? Yay or Nay? Please be honest, this is just for fun, and my feelings will definitely not be hurt. Thanks for looking.

PS: Fun fact - My T says 'Be Brave'. On my walk I encountered another woman wearing a T that said 'Be Fearless'.

I think it works great. The black base of the top grounds the outfit and the colours of the tiger work well with the print and colour of the pants. Haha love those empowering logos tees.

I have been following the challenge and yesterday wore whites, today brownish green. I have not had repeats but get bored with the neutrals. Pictures have been hard after DH retired and is home. (This belongs on another thread.). Your pants look especially good on you.

I love how the tiger goes with your hair. The brown in the pants (great on you) go with the brown in the t. It is chaotic in a good way. Maybe I would wear brown shoes instead - or maybe I wouldn't .

Thanks Everyone! I am a little surprised by how quite a few of you like this combination. It is something I would of worn in my 20's without a thought. I was very into crazy patterns and colours. Interestingly when my hair went silver I was more drawn to neutral and plain items and as soon as I 'coppered' my hair I am leaning back in to the old me (who was brunette, not copper). Even pulled out a large pair of wooden earring hoops when I was wearing my contact lenses for a night out recently. I still find large earrings a bit too much with my specs though. Hair colour seems to affect my clothing choices, and not just colour of clothing. Hhhm, maybe a new thread.

Angie Thanks! This style of pants is my friend and hence I am not really into wide leg jeans on myself.
Jaime and Bijou I only noticed that the tiger matches my hair after I took the photo. Interesting how photos spot light details that your mirror does not! Very interesting as a new selfie taker. Jaime I did actually wear camel/blush knit sneakers on my walk. The sandals pictured are for home use only.

If I were to really make this into an outfit, for say a night out, I would add a jacket, probably a moto jacket and some boots, jewelry and lipstick!

BlueJay Good to know that you also think it works. The thing with these slides is that they were so uncomfortable when I first wore them. The silver material totally ate my feet. I had this problem years ago with another pair of silver slip on sandals. (Both were not real leather). I will never buy anything like this again. Anyway I started wearing them as indoor shoes (I do keep a dedicated pair) with thick socks in Autumn because the sole is so supportive, and the silver became so soft and comfy, and my PF heeled. So I wore them indoors all winter as well. Now the material has actually torn from so much wear. I actually wore blush knitted sneaks out to the veggie store.

Thanks Joy! That is a fun combination - cute and classy I like the idea. Btw I found my red bag at the thrift store on Sunday, although it may be a bit to the maroon side, but I love it. a large-ish bucket bag. I will show it in an outfit some time.
