Here's what I wore yesterday to run errands, pick up the kids and take them to dance lessons. I was glad it was fairly warm yesterday, as I really dislike the feeling of a coat over a blazer.

I feel like the neckline of the shirt needs something - a necklace or a scarf, but nothing inspired me, so I just wore it plain.

Jeans - 7

Okay, I have to admit first off that I am in love with your bookshelf. I also like that you have TWO copies of the Joy of Cooking. There is some interesting story there.

In other news, this, to my eye, is a perfectly perfect MOTG outfit. Nothing needed at all.

Nice outfit! I especially like the effortless way you combine the dressiness of a blazer with the ultra-casual sneakers.

Also, it looks like you have a great cookbook collection. I recognize How to Cook Everything and some of the big America's Test Kitchen cookbooks from my own bookshelf!

This is a great look for MOTG -- modern, but easy. Love the Cons with the stripes. I'm leaving off necklaces and scarves more these days, too. When it doubt --- keep the outfit clean and minimal!

You all are great. Thank you for the feedback! Aubergine, the interesting thing about the blazer is that it's not that dressy. It's unlined cashmere, and a a SA recently referred to it as a cardi.

Cade, Aubergene and Suz, I guess I have a thing for cookbooks! Suz, I have two different editions of The Joy of Cooking, one from after college in the late 80s and one that I think I received as a wedding shower gift in the late 90s. I like the first one better, but I know I've made recipes I've liked from the second one, too. Truthfully, I don't use them as much as some others. Aubergine, I love that How to Cook Everything. Have you made his brownies? And I do love the Cook's Illustrated books (except I've never used the family cookbook...don't know why I have it).
