WIW 10/11: Jeans and tee for the game

I went to the Rose Bowl today to watch the UCLA Bruins get spanked rather soundly by the Oregon Ducks. I got myself a UCLA tee for the occasion and teamed it with my BF jeans and white accessories.

My girlfriend and I had a good time anyway and it was great to sit and relax in the sun for the afternoon!

Drywall Guy was back on the job today and look! No more exposed studs or screws in the living room!!

What a fun way to spend an afternoon! And, good thing that your team's color is blue - because it is perfect for you!

Ok - for honest feedback, I'd suggest the following tweaks:

1) Let the jeans ride down on your hips a little bit lower - maybe loosen the belt a notch or two and pull the jeans down?

2) The white jacket is a great idea - but, (and please keep in mind that this is only my UN-expert opinion!) I think that it looks dated. I'd try a more fluid or oversized type of white jacket with this outfit - something not quite so teeny-tiny looking. Also, I think that it would look more flattering if the sleeves were not the same length as the jacket - see what I mean how the sleeves and the bottom of the jacket are "cutting" a horizontal line across you? I'd push the sleeves up - so that they are not the same length as the jacket.

3) And, one last thing I really like a large cuff on slouchy skinnies and/or regular skinnies, but I think that a BF jean looks much better with a pegged roll than a large cuff. The pegged roll brings some structure to the jeans and reigns in the bagginess. (See how the model has her jeans rolled? That's what I'm talking about!)

Outfit is way cute... but may need to hose dh down with the renos... he is the reno king and I am sure I will never be in a house that is 'done'... I think I am getting a pergola a bit like yours next. You are a better woman than I to live in reno AND be fashionable at the same time! Love it! And that you have so much fun.

Agree with Marley about pegging the leg of the jean. I quite like the jacket, but I'm a late adopter of the look. Was wondering about it being dated, but I'm still seeing it around and it still looks good to my eye. Like the shoes every time you bring them out.

Thanks for the suggestions, Marley. I thought about wearing my more oversized white linen jacket and maybe that would have been a better choice. As it turned out, it was quite warm so I ended up carrying but not wearing the jacket all day anyway. Maybe it's time to retire it. Good idea to let the jeans ride down more. And so noted on the cuff.

And yes, Rambling Ann. Now that you mention it, Drywall Guy is very cute indeed!

Fellow UCLA-er (but not a football fan):

I don't know what folks wear to games in So Cal these days, but I do like your outfit. I agree with Marley that a more fluid jacket would look better. You look like you to have a bit of bulk in the mid-regions and I think a different jacket would offset that. (I don't think I've ever seen an outfit on you that didn't make you look nicely proportioned.)

But you didn't wear the jacket so much, so maybe spending too much time on it. I do like your tee and I'm glad to know more of it showed on you. Great color for you.
