WIW 1-25: Doing the dude thing

If you're wearing men's jeans and they aren't your boyfriend's, or ladies' boyfriend cut, what is that called? MANdating? DeMANding? Being deMANstrative?

I wasn't sure about these as I have gotten used to very lightweight denim in Austin plus I've never gone in for distressing, but I think the pics are pretty fun.

- R13 Classic men's jeans size 27
- Rag and Bone fuzzy cotton cardigan
- JCrew long-sleeved white tee
- Linea Pelle belt
- Sartore ankle boots

I think they look great! I used to wear men's jeans all through high school.

No idea on the term but they look great. I love men's jeans on women when the fit is right. Wish I had the shape for it.

I like them and think you look great in them. I like men's pants - for those of us with no butt and/or (relatively) slim hips, they are a fabulous resource. Men's pants are all I wear in the field, both for fit and practicality - women's field pants don't have functional pockets, are often in ridiculous colors, and sometimes even have really stupid/useless little details like ribbons or flowers.

What do people do with distressing in the winter? I'm getting a little bit of unwanted ventilation. Just curious - do people suffer, or wear tights, or what?

Love those jeans on you. What a great fit! I would wear men's jeans if I were not so darn "hippy" -- I love the non-stretchy denim. About distressing in winter -- I wear fleece-lined tights under my "holey" jeans. (I have them in all kinds of colors just for fun.)

IK- call them what you will but they look great on you!! I would never have thought to raid the men's dept so kudos for your intrepid shopping!! Can't help with the ventilation problem as I'm on sweater tunics, leggings, snowboots and dusters for the duration!! But I would think fleece tights or long underwear would not be amiss!!

Love the softness of the sweater with the jeans and boots. Dude, you are one fab woman in this look. And I'll cheer for your deMANstrative dressing from the bleachers, since my theme song could be "Baby Got Back" (seriously, it makes me smile). Man jeans last made an appearance on me in '99 when I was a poor newlywed and it was a matter of economics, not fashion, that led me to borrow DH's jeans. Sharing pants. How romantic. (Rolls her eyes, makes a sick face).

I wish I could wear men's jeans. Alas and alack, I can't.

As for ventilation, I have some crochet/knit tights (fishnet and lace work well too) I wear under, for a punch of unexpected femininity. Other times, just plain tights.
