Oh WOW ladies, you sure know how to make a gal feel welcomed! Thank you ALL for all of the wonderful comments <3 I'm also very glad that these outfits resonated with you, as this is my favorite time of year to dress for even though it's very short where I live; I'm also doing a mini-purge-and-refine of my style, and these all feel like a step in the right direction.
DeclawedJaguar, I picked up the rusty jacket from Nordstrom Rack about a month ago. I'll check who it's made by when I get home from work for you.
Diana, the drapey wide legs in #3 are a size (or two or three) up in the Express Editor. They are definitely slouchy, sitting low on my hips with a dropped crotch and all; I would say they fit along the waist about how you'd want a BF jean to fit
Rae, meee toooo! And I will be bringing the rusty jacket with me to LA
Beth Ann, great! I look forward to seeing your black and brown outfits. I find brown leathers especially easy to mix with black clothing.
Angie, thank you so much!! *fans self* I'm glad the grin helped ^^ And I am _thrilled_ with my title, and so happy that my strong 70s inspiration comes across in the modern, urban way I strive for. As much as I love the 80s, the 70s always seems much more natural for me to wear and I've been especially keen on bringing more of that late 70s early punk rock vibe to my look; I've put off integrating that side of me far too long!
Jayne, yes I've been really into emerald and forest greens lately, too! I can't seem to get enough, though I don't have a lot of it in my wardrobe.
Marley, the boots in #5 are Miz Mooz "Flynn" and are a really interesting taupe color; indoors the taupe looks more greige and outdoors the warm creamy shade comes out. Super comfy, and an all-day walking shoe for me!
JJ, if your weather is in the 70s, I think you can wear your shorter boots with skirts/dresses/shorts and a lightweight top for a fun transitional vibe. Don't get too jealous, our weather isn't nice enough for long enough to even PUT my boots away and I definitely miss wearing true summery outfits! The grass is greener, eh?
