Another weekend look for hanging out and dinner at Red Lobster.... I am trying to find casual looks that feel as put together as my work clothes. How do you stay stylish and casual?

This looks good! I stick to a formula like the one I posted yesterday and a pretty basic color palette.

I really struggle with casual. I think the formula idea is a good one. I really like basic structure of this outfit. The stripey top in neutral colours with jean is classic and stylish! How does it look tucked? This outfit is a really good base to add some killer accessories or shoes or maybe introduce a small amount of bright colour.

Great outfit. I wear casual/smart casual most of the time, especially for work - I work in a lab. I find Angie's ensemble formula a life saver as most fit into this dress code.

Hi Emily! I love the striped tee, and lulu's stuff is so great, isn't it? I work at home when I am not traveling and so live in casual but in the last couple of years I have ramped up my casual look and that's made me happier. A little more color, more accessories (scarves, jewelry), a little sparkle, etc. I think Sharon's right that you have a great basis here for adding something to bring it up just a notch to make it a little more fun, if you want to.

"Stylish and casual" is pretty much my life (or what I aim for, anyway...I hit the casual, all right!)

Others on the list who dress casually most of the time, even for work days -- Ceit, Kelly, Mo. So you might find inspiration there.

My main focus is on weather and activities. I try to focus on what I'll actually be doing and in what conditions, and build my capsules from there. I also find Angie's formulas to be fantastic inspiration.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I think the problem is that I often just throw on whatever (band tees, hoodies) if I am going for groceries or coffee. Which is fine, I suppose. I figure if I post pics of the outfits I will be forced to think about my casual attire at least a little!
