WIW - self timer app - YouLookFab Forum

I decided to try a self timer app, and it works very well! It's hard to find an area to take photos in my apartment, so this will have to do… doggie bowls and all.

Taking these photos reminded me of the TJ Maxx competition back in 2009… same art on the walls, different apartment. Also interesting to look back and see the difference in my style…. and weight.

Anyway… here's another uber classic outfit. Burgundy BR sweater (probably should be looser for a more current fit), Paige boot cuts, Sam Edelman Petty bootie and gifted Burberry scarf.

Do you think the sweater is passable or looks too form fitting to be current? I bought it recently but it looks like it may have shrank a bit in the wash.

All thoughts and feedback appreciated!

Love the color of your sweater, Marianne, and although it's not super fluid it doesn't look dated to me. Would a semi tuck help take it up a notch and expose a little of your belt?

Curious about your photo, did you use a phone and a self timer app for that? I have such bad lighting and lost my camera so am looking for better photos until I get a new camera or find the old one. How do you get you phone to stabilize...do you have a stand for it? Probably sounds like a dumb question....

I think it looks classic - and matches the mood of the outfit. If you were wearing really trendy pieces then perhaps the lack of fluid fit would be more noticable, but with the classic boot cuts I don't think it makes a huge difference. I wouldn't let that keep me from wearing it, in other words.

And this is a lovely outfit, Marianna. That berry colour is beautiful on you, and I love how the colours in your fab scarf pick up the colour of your booties. Great jeans too. I don't think the sweater doesn't look current, it's not the on trend fluid fit but works well in this ensemble (the scarf adds a bit of volume on top, so the more fitted sweater balances that out). Oh and it will also work great under jackets and blazers.

So glad that you are posting outfits again!

Carole, I proped my phone against a vase and used the TimerCamera app. Worked great!

Inge and all -- my huge issue with fluid fits is that I guess I am still in-between sizes with this new trend. I don't want to go back to plus sizes to achieve a fluid fit. But regular XL isn't fluid enough, I guess. Ugh.

And I'm waving to my scarf twin. (I adore my Burberry scarf).

Tailored fits are always in style, and you look very lovely. Have you tried knotting the ends of your scarf to create a more polished look? After all, you are Princess Polish.

I think you'll achieve a fluid fit just fine in an XL in regular, Marianna. It depends on the brand. xo

I feel your pain, Marianna. I know it is JUST a label, but the psychological implications are far greater. I say wear your Ls and XLs with pride, fluid fit or not!

I didn't realize there was a timer app. I'll have to look into that. During the week, I can usually get DH to take a photo. On the weekends, it's much harder to get photos and timer app has the potential to be useful.

I really like the color of that sweater and the scarf looks great with the boots.
