Happy Friday friends! Angie's post today spoke to me so much, especially the first one. I love the ease, the colour, the practicality. So I attempted to recreate it somewhat from my closet.
I've bemoaned layers before, because our climate swings between super-cold (where pretty layers are just uncomfortable under the giant gear layers necessary for the weather) and super-hot (where layers are yuck) and very little time in between. However, what occurred to me today is that I am often in a cardigan over my thin sweaters at home because I get so cold, and then I take off the cardigan when I go out and put on my heavy jacket. So why would I not keep an eye out for a few more cardis that fit comfortably over my sweaters, in the colours I love, and then just remove them when I go out (which is also the time when I'm less confident wearing colour). Two birds, one stone. Mr. Rogers style lessons for the win
I saved a few ideas in Finds, but if anyone has any recos for their fave not-exorbitant cardis, I'd love the hear them!
Anyhoo - for today's outfit, I wore my Mom's striped cardi over my column of navy. I wore tan booties for the WIW to add the lighter tone, but in reality it's pouring so I'll be in my Hunters today. Proof of concept - popped the cardi off for my walk when I put my rain gear on; back on again when I got home.
I was also in a jewellery mood, so Iayered my gold 'love' necklace with my memory necklace that I wear daily, and my Mom's gold signet ring on the same hand as my engagement ring. Delicate large hoops too. Also have more big earrings on the wishlist, thinking of trying a pair of the Nickel & Suede ones that Suz wears so beautifully.
Feedback and suggestions very welcome! Have a wonderful day and happy Victoria weekend to the Canadians! xx
