WIW - pencil skirt goes sporty

Well, it's *only* hitting 90 degrees here today, so we're getting a slight break from the insane heat. Nonetheless, I'm still keen on outfits that are loose and breezy.

This top continues my foray into waist surrendering, floaty tops for summer. The necklace is one of my new favorites!

Rachylou, that's nice to know! And JulieJohn, I've been wearing my hair like this a LOT lately. Now that it has gotten so long, it solves a number of problems to wear it back, and I like the way a low side ponytail shows some of my hair even from the front view and is a little different from the usual pony.

I'm glad to know this look has approval. I was a little unsure of the the top but I love how comfortable it is, and I like how it shows my shoulders since the rest of it is so voluminous. Hubs liked the outfit too -- when I went into his office to tell him I was heading out for the day, he said, "You look so cute -- I should be taking you out for a date!"

Jayne, it is. 97% cotton, 3% spandex. Machine wash. I haven't washed it yet since this is only the second time I've worn it.

Very very cool outfit (both fashion-wise and, it would seem, weatherwise). I could easily imagine you wearing it strolling around in Soho or some other casually hip urban neighborhood. The soft red and roundness of the flowers contrast nicely with the hardware, black color and geometric lines of your sandals.
