Ha! Thinking about drapey shorts nudged my memory. Coincidentally, one of my friends shared this for TBT last week -- probably the last era when I embraced drapey shorts. There I am in the middle, in Italy in 1992. Cobalt blue with a floral pattern. Hee.

How fun! Even back then you rocked those deep blues ^^ I think you'll find that today's version of drapey shorts look quite different; lower rises and better leg shaping will go a long way here

Yeah, back then everything was high-waisted! Good thing I was relatively skinny back then, but still, high-waisted has always been hard for me to wear. I'm not sure about that length either. Sometimes I wonder if those just-above-the-knee lengths call more attention to the knees?

Diana posted these in Peri's drapey short thread and I'm intrigued by them. I might have to give them a try.

I like those a lot! They're like an artier Bermuda. They are poly though, so I'm not sure how good they'll be in truly sticky hot weather but for normal warm weather would probably work nicely. The gray pair Diana posted was also a fun option, I'm thinking of trying those.

(plugging ears ---- la la la la la --- I will not have to think about shorts ------- la la la).

I'm trying to ignore the fact that, even though it arrives later, hot temp and soaring humidity will come to my neck of the woods, too! I far prefer casual skirts and dresses in the heat, but I do have 2 pairs of longer shorts, one in white denim and another in a light denim wash. As you know, denim may be short, but it's not cool. I could use a new pair or two.

I love the top, with its arty print, and I think choosing khaki for shorts is a classic choice. The low contrast is perfect if you feel a tad bit nekkid in shorts.. Well done!

I too wear shorts in Summer but they aren't my favorite or most flattering look. I love this top and metallic sandals.

I wish I looked this good in my casual shorts attire.

Your outfit reminds me of my summer outfit formula for last year. A printed top with a solid bottom. It made dressing so easy because the print accessorizes the look. I am always drawn to prints in the summer.
