Representing Team Wear - I got these BR Sloan ankle pants Friday and couldn't wait to wear them to work.

Gingham Shirt - Joe Fresh
Cardigan - Rickis
Pants - BR Sloan
Pointy Flats - Aldo

I thought something was not quite right about this, and now that I see the pics I think it is the big ol' belt buckle. Next time I will wear a sleeker skinny belt.

I fake hemmed the pants by folding up the cuffs. I could hem them, but if I leave them I can flip the hems down for booties.

So, thoughts? Proportions all ok?

I actually like the belt. My impulse is always to push up the sleeves but you look good as is!

Looking good Emily. It's a fab belt with an eyecatching buckle which is stealing the limelight here. If you were to wear higher contrasting specs I think they would balance things out.

Thanks, guys! I think the thing about the belt is that it looks sort of country-casual with the gingham shirt, whereas I was going for chic and playful. A bit of country casual is just fine, obvs, I just think a sleek belt would be more "me".

Re: the sleeves, I have this thing about 3/4 length/pushed up sleeves and cropped pants. In my mind's eye it looks like I suddenly grew and now my limbs are too long for my clothes. If my pants are between ankle and knee I feel like my sleeves must be either at my wrist or above my elbow. That's a bit weird, right? Right. Moving on!

Ceit, the pants are pretty great! I haven't washed them yet (I am a laundry rebel and will not be following the dryclean label) but the fit was superb and they wore really well through the day. The fabric is nice and sturdy. My only gripe is that they are a bit bulky around the fly.

I so agree with you on the ankle pants OR scrunched sleeves, not both in one outfit. I'm tall and have long arms and legs, but in shorter pants and sleeves (together) think my torso looks thick.
I love the outfit as is but it would also look great with a contrasting belt - red, burgundy, cognac, teal, yellow...?
