What a way to bust the funk! I love that you nailed the period look with a dress from the 80's and so little money. Dropped waists can be so playfully chic, and they're also cool for hot summer days.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm late to comment but was just saying on Bijou's thread how much I love the 1920s and get inspired by them IRL. You look so awesome in this outfit and so does DH, great shots of you dancing. I agree that you can get stuff that fits the vibe for not too many $$. I love 1920s warm weather events!

So pretty! And you and hubby look like such a fun couple. I kind of want to hang out with you guys!

Beth Ann - I'm not a fan of the drop waist since I'm petite and it can make me look so very shot, but I do like the forgiving straight cut lines of the 20s dress. It worked for this event.

Jenni NZ - DH and I are such amateurs to dancing but the jazz band threw in some big band sounds of the 40s so we got a chance to do our lindy hop swing. And, the charleston isn't that hard to do.

bella - You are so sweet and would love to meet new people, so any time your in town, let us know. We haven't had a DC meetup in quite some time.

Such fun! lovely outfit - it looks to be a great picnic!
