I couldn't resist posting after reading today's blog post. After admiring everyone's culottes, and especially Aida and Nicole's wider ones, I realized there is no place like home...to find culottes. I had thrifted theses some months ago when the culotte craze was just heating up and then put them aside as too wide and overwhelming. Now that my eyes are adjusted I decided
to give them another spin.

culottes - Green Almond (?) thrifted
top - Stefan Green with bonus ruffle trim thrifted
shoes - Fausto Santini consignment
bag - Sonia Rykiel second hand

So what do you think of these culottes? Too long? Too wide? Too something else? Styling suggestions also appreciated!

I love them!!! I like the slimmer top with the wide culottes. The outfit looks proportional to my eyes because of the minimal tank which balances out the excess volume created by the culottes. And those boots are TDF! YLF!

Really nice. I am warming up to this trend -- not for me, but on others. I like this outfit -- and I really really love the palette. The neutral shoes and the warm pink tones, with the grounding black -- just fabulous.

I haven't gotten into culottes, but I think this is one of my favorite culotte outfits so far. Maybe because this pair is wide and fluid enough that it almost looks like a midi skirt at first glance, and because the simple fitted top balances it out so well. I love the shoes too!

Can culottes be too wide? I think they look so great. I'm really no expert on length, though, so I will let others speak to that detail. What a fab (and thrifty!) outfit.

Viva I have been playing with pink and black ever since Angie's review of the fall shows - I really like the combination too!
Aubergine, I think there must be culottes that appeal to almost everyone because they come in so many widths, lengths and styles.

Yes, there can be no debate over whether theses are culottes or crop pants! I haven't thought too much about my culotte preferences because I just don't think they will ever fly without turning heads here in middle America, but this wiw makes me realize that I really do prefer the more voluminous versions. So fun!

It tempts me to see if they make them in tall sizes?! (Imitation is the greatest form of flattery) Once again, I am wishing that I knew how to sew clothes. I sense a new hobby in the wings....

I feel so silly that I was almost going to give these culottes away! I just needed to see some great examples to get my eyes adjusted to the volume.
Meredith, I think there should be culotte sub-categories and these are firmly in the culotte wide group.

Ah...so great! What a beautiful look on you! The juxtaposition of the soft pink and the boots (so cool) -- the glorious volume of the culottes with the slim top -- not to mention the coolest hairstyle west of Deborah -- this is stunning on you.

These look great on you, length and width both work to my eye, and yes, the do look like a midi-skirt too. I think a "see a ruffle" created by the cinching detail of your purse too, goes nicely with the tank top. Nice rescue of the culottes!

I LOVE these culottes. This is how I want my hypothetical future pair to look. (Not like the pleated, super-enwidening monstrosity I just received from ASOS and have already sent back!) Love these culottes, both for themselves (this is the shape that looks best to my eye, probably because I love full skirts, hehe) and on you. What a fun choice in footwear too! Love the tonal play in the pink of your top & blouse as well.
