Back from vacation, and as fabulous as it was to wear bikinis and not much else for 10 days, I was excited to finally wear some new things that didn't get a chance to debut before the flu and holiday intervened.

- Jacket - Angie's pick! Paige jacket. My husband took one look before I even could get to a mirror and said "You HAVE to get that."

- Trousers - Gap. I am happy to finally have some casual machine washable black pants. I could have gone down a size since they seem to be stretching a bit over the course of the day, but they're comfy and don't seem to be getting baggy in the butt, so they're a win.

- Asos booties - I posted these before -- even though I haven't had them long, they're becoming workhorses.

- The Jas-M.B. London clutch I scored on sale. So much fun!

- A ring I found while Christmas shopping. Unbelievably good bargain and I wanted a ring with black or grey, so I pounced.

- Grey knit fingerless gloves/arm warmers -- ditto to above. I am getting a lot of use out of my fingerless gloves, and the knit ones are a nice cuddly alternative when I'm wearing a leather jacket so I don't look *too* overwhelmed with leather.

The two old things are my red cashmere scarf and the patterned turtleneck I got at Nordstrom years ago. I was a little worried this silhouette print might be dated, but I like it enough that I don't care -- besides, my jacket is staying on in public, and I think the jacket modernizes it. What do you think?

ETA PS: Oh, and this is my straightened hair, not on vacation and actually blow-dried with a little product. I'm pretty happy with it. It was VERY low-maintenance in the tropical heat and humidity.

ETA a slightly better photo of the hair close up, although you really can't see the color all that well, and yeah, I look tired and jet lagged, which I am.
