Love this. First kisses are the best, or are at least uniquely awesome until the next best thing comes.Except I could not handle the added pressure of kissing a stranger AND having it filmed. Too much.

And I've gotten unexpected sparks from kissing which I why I don't recommend giving up on a guy before at least one proper kiss.

The whole thing is very complicated ... I have heard a variety of reactions to the film so you, Alicat and Isabel, are not alone. Apparently some of the people were actors, and others musicians and models ... and it's all an ad for a clothing line. And these facts have also caused a variety of reactions.

For me, it was not creepy, and learning it was an ad and semi-staged (although I am pretty sure each pairing were truly strangers to one another) did not detract from the film. I agree there were definitely uncomfortable moments in it, but there are uncomfortable moments with first kisses, which is what to me made it feel true.

Anyway, yes, quite provocative and interesting.

I mostly noticed the body language before, during and after. It was obvious that afterwards many had relaxed, a couple or two even held hands/hugged for a while afterwards. Before it was all about tension and embarassment and anxiety. Very interesting. I wasn't repulsed. I did somehow gather that some were actors and most were attractive looking so I figured they had been "cast" for the video for one reason or another.

For me it was about observing human behavior.

Let's be HONEST. The people on that video do not look average. They are universally young, attractive men and women. They look clean, well groomed, have beautiful smiles and even the 'right weight'. I won't say I would have kissed all of them in a heartbeat, because I wouldn't have (I don't kiss strangers, period). However, it's not the same thing to be asked to kiss a Hollywood bimbo (insert whomever you like) or the middle-aged man sitting across the bus with his belly hanging over his ill-fitting trousers and a smudge of something around his lips.

Plus, these people actually look good together. They suit each other in terms of good looks.

That said, the clip was beautiful and sweet, but not very natural. Either the kisses were staged, or everybody else kissing on the streets and public places does it the wrong way, because it normally doesn't look like that lol

I wanted to chime back in and say what Viva said - that this was somewhat staged for an advert and admittedly the people are beautiful but I felt like the end part, after the kisses was genuine and quite lovely.

The end part was what fascinated me - the oxytocin and dopamine release as a result of the kissing.

Oxytocin is such an amazing hormone. I have been at births where the mom's labour has slowed down and we have left the couple to make out a bit and things pick right up afterward.

Hil, that is fascinating. You named the chemicals I was referring to when I said the after effects. So...do they sell oxytocin?!!! just kidding! I agree with you on the end part being genuine and lovely.
