Ever since Spring came around, I've been dreaming of a beach vacation. I love the beach so so so much; sadly we don't live anywhere even remotely close to the coast. And my lil puppy is too young to be left with a caretaker or sitter just yet....

The beach vacation will have to wait a while, but the vacation shopping doesn't.....right? Got myself a new beach bag and straw hat today! We're hoping to be able to take a trip to Krabi, Thailand in August!

Super cute bag and hat, and the Thailand vacation sounds very promising!

I was longing for a tropical beach in the midst of winter this year, when I happened across a realistic picture of beautiful waves washing up onto golden sand. I bought it and can't tell you how much I've enjoyed looking at it.

You look perfectly beach ready, Maneera! Now you can gaze at your new treasures and picture your holiday. I recall reading somewhere that anticipating an event is supposed to be a big part of the fun, so your tote and hat have health benefits

And don't you just love those loose-weave straw bags for their ability to sift out the sand so you don't 'unpack' it it back in the hotel room?

Windchime - I've done just that!!! It's my screen saver on the phone, iPad and my computer!!!! How I love looking at a photo of the beach, picturing myself lounging on the sand with a tall, chilled cocktail! Ummm.....

I'm right there with you on the wishful thinking. This time of year, when everyone's on spring break and posting photos from luscious tropical destinations, I'm always seized with envy. Alas, my husband's job involves a month-long US sporting event that happens in March every year, so we rarely get to go anywhere until after the tournament ends.

I love your tote and hat! I have my straw hat, too, and a straw tote is definitely on my list for summer. If nothing else, I can take it to the tiny beach on our tiny lake.

Jenn - I got the bag pretty cheap. H&M just opened up in my local area and I saw tons of beach bags at the store....in some lovely colors too! Now I wish I had a tiny beach on a tiny lake around here....I don't...so until then, I'll take the bag along to the swimming pool on weekends
